This was a pleasant resort that was spacious and we enjoyed use of the pool and the availability of a restaurant on property. The restaurant service however was very poor and made it less interesting to utilize due to the difficulty of ordering. Overall the property is lovely and the reception was welcoming and accommodating.

A very nice place to stay

Pros: The staff, the size of our accommodation and the price.
Location: Visit Jumba Ruins, eat at Monsoons Restaurant the seafood platter is to dies for. Go to Custom Beach and have a couple of cold Tuskers
We had a two room apartment, consisting of a nice size living room, kitchen, separate shower/wet room and toilet. It was ideal for accommodating our 9 year old daughter and my wife's sister for part of our holiday and the mother in law for another part. Nice size TV for the footy and movies. Sofa, two arm chairs and a dining table the accommodates 4 people.
There are two nice swimming pools, ideal for the kids. The facilities in the apartment were very good. It's great to have a fridge and cooking facilities on holiday somewhere hot. You don't have to use the cooking facilities in the apartment as they have a restaurant on site and the staff are happy to bring food and drinks to your room. Also you could go out to some of the nice restaurants on the beaches. Food and drink is cheap. Tusker Lager is great and about £1 for half a litre, which beats over £3 a pint!
All of the staff were helpful, friendly and responsive. The chap in charge, the owner was so friendly and helpful too.
There is a small beach 15 minutes or so walking, or a few minutes on a motorbike taxi. There are many other beaches and places to see and things to do a bit further away.
There are local people that live in some of the apartments so you can get a feel for local life and really experience Kenya. Our daughter made friends with a local girl going to a school nearby and other children that came and went during our stay. We had such a great holiday.

Pros: Big rooms
Cons: a lot: better management is the first priority.
Location: It is not easy to find the hotel, it is in the middle of Mtwapa, not near to any beach, not even near to shops.
My room booked via Expedia had been given to somebody else. Had to wait one hour before an alternative room had been cleaned. There was a lot of noise from workers, hammering, drilling etc - everyday. The manager was not around. When he was he apologized about the noise and said there would be no noise Sunday! But Sunday they were hammering the whole day!
