I lover the place, very, very beautiful. But staff don't speak english much. But the place it fantastic, it is so beautiful cover in snow breakfast and dinner are all inclusive, I didn't know until I find the place to eat . You need to mark advance booking, that all. If receptionist can information me that... I give 100% recommend but from my struggles it now 98% lol cuz the place is amazing. PS it very big. Food is very authentic not tourist style

Disappointed

Posted 30 Jul 2017
From outside the hotel looks grand and impressive, but once you enter it becomes the opposite. The room was musty and had the most uncomfortable bed I have slept on. The shower barely worked and there were cobwebs along the base of the bed and on the ceiling. Don't get me started on the restaurants. Terrible food. Inedible to be honest. I love all styles of Japanese food and have no food issues whatsoever, this food was straight up prison food at best. I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel if you can, especially at the price they charged. I will end on the one good note - the staff were kind, courteous and attentive the entire time.

I wanted to enjoy this family focussed stay but...

What I had hoped for in a first time snow stay with 2 young kids turned out to be rather disappointing. I had worked at Big White in BC Canada for a season and saw what a customer service oriented, family friendly resort experience was. This however was a disappointment the moment we left the check-in desk as that's where the only English was... There was nobody willing to speak English and there was no English signage, one outdated English menu, no English rental forms and time and time again we got overlooked only to have 'locals' looked after due to the lack of confidence from staff to attempt to communicate with us. I respect that we were in Japan and that it was their territory but we felt excluded, lost and confused. Eg: lined up for 20 min at the only lunch option only to be told there's a desk with a form (all Japanese!) that we had to put our names on... The actual snow was slushy and half the resort closed and only a couple of chairs spinning. Ended up leaving after just one night. Fortunately my 1 & 3 yr old kids didn't grasp any of this and did have a great time playing in the snow. We captured a few happy snaps but it certainly was nowhere near the experience of a REAL family focussed resort like Big White which is what I had hoped to share in Japan with the kids... If you're willing to learn Japanese for your trip, sure, give it a go but if not, stay away. It's outdated and not customer friendly. I will NOT recommend this to anyone who doesn't speak Japanese.

Super convenient with easy equipment and locker rental within the hotel compound. Staff speak very limited English though.
