Tired and very basic in a not very pleasant area. Also paid hugely as there was an event on.

The hotel is close to the metro and next to Carrefour which is a plus. However, I booked a single room which had a bed that was around 4 feet wide and about 5 inches from the entrance to the room. The sleep wasn't comfortable and I could hear noises from the reception. The owners don't speak English (one of them understands a little bit) but he didn't give me a remote control to the a/c for some reason. The overall vibe wasn't centered around guest service and satisfaction but more old school whatever.

Hi Thomas, we are surprised to read your comment as it contains several imprecise details:1) There were 10-15 degree celsius outside, that’s the reason why there was no AC remote by default. Upon your request, we immediately provided you with one, and you used AC without any problem.2) Room/bed size: room and bed size are displayed before reservation, as well as standard for the single room (most inexpensive option) booked. Superior room types offer more spacious and wider beds. 3) English speaking staff: while we reckon that not all the staff speak English, English assistance is provided throughout the day (the person replying is the “little bit”-speaking one, who gave you AC remote, directions on Milan, as well as offered you multiple options to reach the airport in early morning, etc.)Best regards

I would not recommend a stay at this hotel. The parking was conveniently on-site and only $10 and the breakfast included was a nice touch, but that’s about all positive I can say. Oh, also, the staff was pleasant. However, the hotel has a policy of leaving the key with the front desk before leaving that I’ve never encountered before, and this is coming from a fairly well-traveled person (I worked for an airline). We didn’t run into issues because the front desk was always staffed but it is a bizarre policy, felt like we were in a dorm room and our come and goes were monitored. The room smelled moldy and there was a large patch of mold in a ceiling corner of the room. Mind you, after a long journey we were still very happy to finally have a room and bathroom to crash in, regardless of the smell, the weird policy and the mold. But that lasted until 230am when we were woken up my our neighbor’s conversations and subsequent hour long moaning action. I could not blame our neighbors, it’s not like they were loud, the walls were simply way too thin. Another, disappointment, if you will, were the towels. Although I appreciated that covered in plastic showed some sort of sanitation, we were provided with a hand towel, another slightly larger hand towel and a third which looked like a sheet? Not sure, but it was larger than a regular towel and very thin. Not practical. I wish I would’ve taken pictures! I think I was in denial and that was easier than looking for a new place to stay.

Dear Julia,Thank you for spending time sharing your experience. The ceiling issue has been resolved after your report. We would like then to make few clarifications:1. Keys: it’s common use, particularly in small-sized hotels in Italy, to use traditional keys to be left at the reception when the guest is present. We understand that airline-affiliated large chain hotel use electronic keys and are studying to implement this solution. Our current key policy has nothing to do with surveillance or monitoring guests movements, it’s simply for safety and impede unintended persons to enter your room (plus the key may be lost or copied by others) - nothing more. 2. Towels: the set provided to each guest include a face towel, a bath mat (“larger hard towel”) and a bath towel (“sheet-like” towel) - the latter‘s fabric being a nido d’ape (honeycomb) texture which allows a more efficient absorption of water. Best regards
