The manager was very friendly. We reached there at almost 11, but he welcomed with grace. The room was clean and well maintained.

The elevator was broken, room smelled, roaches in the bathroom. We had to ask every day for new towels. We will not stay again.

The property was wonderful and so was staff but the maintenance had poor communication and just tried to walk into our room

Hotel in a good location, relatively inexpensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. Just pay more and go somewhere else they actually care.
The room had an overlying smell of mold. The bathroom was grubby ( no one had cleaned behind the door forever,there was pink mold on all the caulking, the paint around the doorknob on the inside was covered dirty finger marks- all could easily wipe off,(I know this, because I did) but no one had bothered. We were told we could request the room to be made up if we let the front desk know before 10 am- which we did. In spite of 4x follow-up,INCLUDING WITH THE MANAGER OF HOUSEKEEPING! no one came. We had 2 bath towels- one so frayed that long strings were hanging of the welt, one hand towel and 2 facecloths. The bathtub drain was clogged,
The outside areas were completely untended to The stairwells were dirty and filled with cigarette buts ( no smoking hotel) .the outside halls were filthy. Pool area could have been beautiful but there was bird excrement on all the lounge chair because no one bothered to stack them away from the bird-filled trees at night. I mean, covered.
Inexplicably there were pylons scattered around the lobby advertising wet floors the entire time we were there. The floors were bone dry.
The bright spot was the desk clerk Allen, who was helpful, professional and kind and efficient.
Allen deserves a raise.

We were coming in to celebrate a friend's birthday and stayed one night. The lobby is clean and very nice. The staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms are as pictured and clean. Bed was comfortable. For the price, it could not be beat. We didn't make it to breakfast so I can't comment on that.

Room 205 did not have a view of the pool or ocean. It had bugs. It has been the worst stay I’ve experienced this far, in Galveston. I didn’t have the breakfast or use the pool. Only reason I stayed was because I brought my pet and I didn’t want the challenge of trying to find a last minute place to stay.
I do recommend Doc Holidays, next door. Good service, great food and happy hour.
