Although an historic property the Inn has been updated and we enjoyed a clean, well appointed room right down to a sound machine to ensure audial comfort and improve sleep! Freshly baked cookies and caramel apples greeted us in the foyer and a detailed and spotless coffee and tea bar was just outside the guest rooms. The custom breakfast served in the main inn was excellent. Warm scones, rich coffee, French toast with Vermont maple syrup and perfect eggs with sautéed baby spinach in front of a fire listening to Miss Simone and other classic jazz vocalists…..simply heaven
Cannot wait for another opportunity to return.

Fantastic bed & breakfast in the heart of Middlebury! Lovely inn, beautifully appointed rooms and friendly staff.
FYI Room 31 (Cartmell room) is on the main road, so if you are sensitive to street noise this may not be the room for you.

Simone - Thank you so much!We like to point out that the proximity of our Gate House rooms to Rte 7 may make them not the best choice for light sleepers. We do provide white noise machines in the rooms which get the job done for most travelers. We have 15 other rooms to choose from between the Main House and the Carriage House so we're certain that there's a great room for everyone. When in doubt, our front desk staff can help you decide.

A traditional warm welcome.
