Industrial Chic with added pot holes
Posted 26 Mar 2018 on HotelsFirst impression - after so much the rain the road leading to the hotel was full of pot holes which were difficult to navigate in a standard car.
However on arrival we were greeted by the reception staff who made every effort to make our room available early.
The hotel is Industrial Chic. Big ceilings in the main building, open brick work and pipes.
The rooms are all separate to the main building and continue theme with concrete floors, steel bars and a stone work bathroom.
Bed was very comfortable, shower good although does tend to spray the rest of the bathroom.
When the sun eventually came out we had a stunning view over the lake.
We had some drink and lunch in the bar/restaurant. Food and service was very good. It was very popular with families meeting for lunch on the Saturday.
My downsides would be the lighting in the room. Felt very dark, especially as the weather wasn’t good. The dressing area was too dark making it difficult to get ready.
On our first night a band had come in to play, it was 1am when they finished and no-one would escape the noise, as rock music was not our type we didn’t join in but had no choice to not listen.

Good for stop over
Posted 25 Mar 2018Good for stop over on way back to JH from Kruger. Reception staff very helpful. Rooms and restaurant really good. Good attention to detail. Nice views of the pond. Dirt road a bit bumpy but we drove it just after lots of rain.

Pros: Peaceful location, large modern room.
Lovely room, very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect in a more expensive room. Peaceful location.

Will be back...
Posted 4 Feb 2018 on HotelsLovely area. Staff friendly. When checking in the receptionist wanted to give us 2 rooms; we said we only booked one room for 2 people. Then the payment... We said we paid upfront...

Great value for money

Pros: The rooms were spacious, comfortable and with all the facilities you would expect at a more expensive location.
Cons: There was no fruit offering at breakfast.
Location: A convenient stop between Johannesburg and Kruger.
We only stayed one night on the way to Kruger but found the rooms to be very comfortable and loved the touches of industrial architecture. The food was very good and the service attentive. There were building works going on which we were not made aware of but they were a minor annoyance in an otherwise tranquil location.

Okay Venue, Poor Service - Owners - Communication!
Posted 30 Jan 2017 on HotelsMy overall experience was not good. Renovations done at restaurant area. Should have expected to notify clients before-hand. Offered room service, but could only choose between chicken or beef burger - No real choice. Had to drive into town for a dinner. During breakfast time, they were still unorganised, which meant I left without breakfast. I was so disappointed with service, that I ended by staying only one night and stayed 2nd night at my own expense at a different hotel. The Owners should have picked up on this and could have called me. Attention to customer focus and details lacking! Venue & rooms nice, but due to the bad service I will not go back!
