Woke up with the bed covered in termite poop coming from a vent above the bed. Emailed the owners, got no response. 2nd day there I discovered the kitchen counter and sink covered in bugs and emailed them again, I received a text from who I believe is the property manager (Liza Imbert) stating that they’d like to move me to one of their other units which I agreed to because I could not see myself sleeping in a bed covered in feces for the rest of my stay.
The unit was actually a hotel (said to be 4 star hotel, it wasn’t) I was told I would be in one room for 2 days then have to move to another or back to La Finca after it was done being fumigated.
I explained to Liza that the main reasons I chose to stay at the La Finca property was privacy and access to a full kitchen to cook my own meals; Im on a strict diet and did not budget buying each meal from a restaurant. Liza tells me that unfortunately La Finca studio will not be available to go back to and she will try to find other accommodations for me, that fell flat with no option other than to stay in a 3rd unit at the hotel which was disappointing which I expressed to her and brought up finding my own accommodation, she said if I chose to do that I would be refunded for the rest of the days which I aggravatingly agreed to. The refund was never sent so I texted her later saying I will go through Expedia. Expedia ended up refunding much less than agreed. All in all stressful bad experience which but a damper on my vacation

We did everything possible to accommodate this guest. Unbeknownst to us, there was a small termite issue that was quickly addressed. We advised guest that we can host his remaining days at one of our hotels nearby that had plenty of amenities to enjoy but after the 2nd day guest decided he did not want to stay and be moved around and wanted a refund instead. We absolutely agreed to refund the remaining 2 nights and asked where to send it. We were also sending him an additional 40 for the inconvenience. Guest later changed his mind and wanted Expedia to handle. Which we also agreed without hesitation. Once Expedia took over the dispute, Expedia sent the two nights that corresponded to him, which was less because the 40 were coming from us directly. We spoke to Expedia and after a lot of back and forth, this guest received an additional 100 in future credit to use. We are sorry that the guest encountered a difficult situation but by no means did we not addressed it immediately, we went above and beyond to make up for the disruption of his stay. We have never had any bad reviews of this nature as you see all our reviews are great and hope he can reconsider and come back and stay with us again so we can make up for the incident.

The place was way better that expected, it was very clean, it had all the features needed in every room, from hair dryer, garage control, blankets, full kitchen and much more, And most important, home felt privacy. I’m definitely booking this place for our next trip to Miami. Thank you guys.
