Clean, central and safe.
Posted 22 Jul 2024 on HotelsWonderful venue and a central location not quite in the centre of the hustle and bustle. But a short drive or tram ride into the city. Clean, tidy and safe. Has everything required for a weekend stay or a few days away. Responsive customer service too.

Clean and well equipped

The Hamptons Apartments is a relatively small but well appointed place to stay for an individual or for a family. It is close to the 109 tram line which is a direct route to Melbourne CBD and even closer to numerous restaurants on Bay St as well as Coles, IGA and First Choice Liquor. Very courteous staff and quick to respond to any request.

Our family of three stayed in a two-bedroom apartment and found it comfortable for our two-night stay. Close enough to walk to the beach and piers.

Nice apartment good for a family. Walking distance to tram stop, shops, supermarket, pubs etc. Parking can be tricky but we found a spot in the street with no restrictions so left the car there all week no problems. Great area for walking and a beach just at the end of the street. Close to the city, only ten minutes by tram. Apartment needs some TLC and the oven didn’t work but overall we had a good stay.

Hi Peter,We hope you are well!We appreciate your review as it helps us in determining areas of our processes that need to be addressed.May we know specific info about why you thought the Apartment is "terrible for parking?" Upon checking your reservation, it appears that you have booked an Apartment in Hamptons Port Melbourne from Dec 2-4, 2023 and as part of our internal investigation, we checked all the correspondence leading up to your stay, along with any correspondence while you were in-house. However, we don't see any emails from you requesting parking at our Apartment. Kindly note that any guest who requires parking in Hamptons Port Melbourne will be informed that we use Car Stackers. Before we allocate one, we need to collect all the car details to ensure that it will fit the stacker to prevent any damage. A Car Parking Induction also needs to happen after a guest checks in, but they are required to contact us directly after checking in so they can schedule an induction, which is only done during business hours. Let us know if there's anything else we may assist you with.Thank you

Property did not inform us of car park renovations until we requested car park induction!!! We felt they did not want us to park car at property since they only informed us of maintenance/renovations when we brought the issue up!!! There were no workers about for the car park renovations plus there were also cars parked inside during our stay. Other properties would advise pool/car park etc under maintenance.
Getting the key to room was a major hurdle !! The key locker didn’t work properly and we were given 3 codes before can actually open locker …they said there will 2 key passes and yet there was only 1 key pass given which caused a lot of inconvenience !

Hello Toung,Thank you for reaching out to us to express your frustration about your recent booking.We take our guests' feedback seriously in order to improve our quality of service.Kindly note that we were also not informed that you would be using a Car Parking when the booking was made. You see, Online Travel Agency (OTA) Bookings automatically drop into our system with only the accommodation details and the amount paid by the guest via Expedia. No information was passed on at the time of booking that a Car Parking is required until we received an email from you that you require one.Unfortunately at the time, we can't provide you with a particular Car Parking spot as we were upgrading all the locks in the Building including that of the Car Parking Spaces. To rectify this, you were advised that there are plenty of free parking spaces directly outside our property, subject to council signs, and one of the private car parking companies was also suggested. We're sorry that this particular incident has upset you, but please note that we do our best to suggest car parking spaces in case we can't offer one. As for the issues with the codes, please note that we have just transitioned to self-check-in and part of the transition will sometimes include a few glitches. But they are being dealt with as soon as the issue is raised.Based on the history of your booking, you were successfully given 2 different codes for the main entrance and the lockbox that holds the Apartment Keys. The codes came with detailed instructions on how and where to enter them and if there are issues, you are free to contact us upfront. Again, we do apologize for any inconvenience and we hope that your recent experience won't deter you from booking with us again.Thank you,Guest Services
