A beautiful old world building very close to the water and walking distance to just about everything. Very nice hosts that were very helpful when I mentioned I was looking for a place to go out. Will definitely be back.

We've stayed at the Captaion's repeat several times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The room is delightful, the location superb, and the people are friendly, efficient, and helpful.

Captain's Retreat Apartments, May 2024

The house is lovely and spotlessly clean and we'd have no problems returning. However, the room we chose was beside the front door, so as the other guests came and went we'd be disturbed by the front door closing. The Captain's Retreat Apartments will be our choice should we visit the area again, but we would choose a different room.

Hi Gerald, Thanks for the 8/10 rating. Much appreciated. I tried to call you but the number given seems to be an international one without a country code??In 17 years, we've not had anyone comment about the noise of the front door closing so I think I know what it was. Someone had bent the screen door too far backwards and so we disconnected the soft close mechanism whilst awaiting a replacement but if people weren't careful, it would close too hard. I wish you had told me of the problem because if I'd known, I would have propped the door ajar until the replacement came. My sincere apologies. Please make yourself known when you book again. It is a beautifully decorated historical property, which is easily accessible and a real joy to stay at. Melissa was a friendly host, who is very easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this property.

Super friendly welcome and a nice little surprise room upgrade. This place is decorated beautifully and makes you feel so at home. Huge shared kitchen and lounge room which leads out onto a large patio. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Walking distance to many choices of places to eat.
