Just opposite to the train station, the lodge provided self checkin services, you can easily get the key and relax in the lodge. The ground floor provide hot water and a snack machine which is very convenient. The room and toilet was very clean and we felt very comfortable staying there.

Not bad- not great. Just stay away
Posted 1 Sep 2019 on HotelsWe came to the hotel without knowing it was a self check-in, and there was no one to talk too. I'm sure it says so on the website, but I think it should be specified better. We wanted to park and didn't knew where, the screen of the self check-in showed us the parking next to the restaurant, and after we parked there, they kicked us out saying they don't work with your lodge and we can't park there. Confuse we have no one to talk too, we just parked next to the lodge. Funny thing is, a day after we got a mail from the lodge telling us where to park- too late don't you think? We also got the room with the kitchen, but the same mail said we cant cook in our rooms! really? Didn't make sense at all...
Overall the place was clean, but then we took one pot and a cockroach run from it.
We also put a sign- ''do not disturbe'' on the door before we left the room for the day and we came back to a room that was 'cleaned'- someone got into it anyway, ignoring our request for privacy. That same someone found dirty socks that do not belong to us from under the bed and put it on our bed as it was ours! disgusting!!! Overall not the worst experience, but I would not recommend it.

With the booking confirmation the guests get my phone number, so why did you not call me to discuss this matter?
In the "at a glance" on the website of hotels.com we are very clearly declared as a self check in accommodation, which means that the guests are aware of this when they book the rooms.
Yes of course the owner of the restaurant next door is a different company, one parking lot belongs to me and so far I know they never kicked away anybody at all. So why did you not park in front of the house?
By the way cockroaches only appear where there is food and since we have no food at all in the rooms I am curios about this, but I will investigate this matter.
On this day we had a change of cleaning people, so I apologize about the ignoring the request of privacy, they just tried to make our guests happy with a clean room.
Over all you say the room was clean. It is very hard to believe that because of the parking and a aperently sock, the room was such an awful experience.

Good and cheap stay while visiting close cities
Posted 28 Aug 2019 on HotelsThe owner should check more regularly the cleaning and services that is done by 3rd parties. Our bathromm didn't have any soap (we had to use shampoo for washing hands), and also the bin was not emptied from before, and even after cleaning there were hairs on the floor on both bathroom and the room. Besides, although we had our own bathroom, but be aware the bathroom is not in the room and you have to path the hallway to reach to your bathroom.

Very comfortable
Posted 26 Jul 2019 on HotelsThe check in was all just electronic.. there is no front desk, so no one to talk to about the area. But, it was very easy to get checked in. The room was very nice with comfortable beds and all very clean. The location is right on a main road which was sort of a bummer. But it wasn’t busy and loud at night. All the restaurants in Meirengen are pretty expensive. But we were able to get food at a grocery store and cook in the microwave in the lobby of the hotel which was nice. We loved hiking around Lungern!!! What a beautiful lake!!!

Dear Sue, thanks for your nice review. All my guests get an automatic mail from me at Arrival day, with the information that I am available for tour planing in the morning. So far no guests asked for this service I realy love to provide. Yes you are right the restaurants in the area are quite expensive. Thats why I created this concept where the guests can decide to eat in restaurants or prepare their own meal in the longe. Our Infrastucture in the lounge covers almost all specrum of modern cooking. Idyllic Mountain Getaway
Posted 20 Jul 2019 on HomeAwayOur trip to the Brunig Lodge was very enjoyable. Everything is automated, making the check in process super easy and the room easy to access. Our room was a little smaller than advertised and the bathroom was not attached; however it was still private. The area is beautiful, there are many cool hikes and recreational activities nearby. Overall we had a very pleasant and memorable night at the Brunig Lodge.

Excellent value, 20 min out of Interlaken
Posted 14 Jul 2019 on HotelsWe had a great time at the Brunig Lodge. There was free parking, a well-designed bathroom, and a clean and modern room with comfortable beds. Breakfast and coffee were always available in the lobby area. We had no problems with check-in, and the owner was easily accessible by text/calling (he personally checked how we were while cleaning every day). Only complaints would be the close proximity to the noisy road and having to go through a hallway for our bathroom, but overall for the price, it was a nice stay.
