I was amazed to find adjustable beds in this quaint motel. I could see the updates and improvements that were installed into this unassuming small town location. Pleasantly surprised.

Hotel from hell
Posted 30 May 2024 on HotelsHad a resveration price, he did not honor, increased the cost $15.00 per nite. Room was never cleaned, two towels for two people. Carpet is over 30 years old. Was told I get a &20.00 refund on checking out, never happen. Next time I’ll drive the 30 miles to the next hotel. If you looking for a really poor hotel, this is it. The owner can hardly speak English. Really do not under any reason stay there

We apologize for your experience. There was certainly confusion on our end in trying to find your reservation. Not being able to find the reservation we charged you our direct booking rate plus the refundable deposit. Once the reservation was found we explained to you the additional amount that you owed us adjusting the refundable deposit towards the reservation amount. There was no refundable deposit left to return to you on your departure.

Was like going back to my youth when motels were clean but no frills.

You have to remember this is a mom and pop place and so for the price point this was a good place. We were there for the bluegrass festival and our other options were more expensive or much farther away. As such the place is in need of an update and did provide the necessities. It met our needs. McCormick is just a few miles down the road and we can recommend the Little Italy restaurant and the Huddle House.

Left the property at 1am and had to drive home. Next door was people sitting outside my door talking loudly. People coming and going. Terrible experience.

We apologize for the inconvenience. You did report the issue about the behavior of the next door guests. We took action to resolve but the guests did not improve their behavior. We did refund your night stay as you requested and also as a matter of principle removed the guests from the room next door. We hope you would give us another opportunity.

The rooms are very spacious. Is the first time I’ve ever seen a hotel where the head of the bed adjust so you could sit up and read a book in bed without needing too many pillows. The staff of the property was extremely professional and polite and went out of the way to help you, this is the best spot to stay at go to Graves Mountain rock swap and dig Since it’s only 20 minutes away from the site, which is straight down the same road the hotels on.

The Bel-Mar is a quaint throwback to a different time with a genuinely caring owner. Off the beaten path and nestled near the Sumter National Forest it's a peaceful place to stay. It's well cared for inn with spacious rooms that's a must stay if you're in the area.

This property is under new ownership and management. They have updated a lot but still needs more. The floors are uneven, the AC doesn't smell the greatest but not bad, no clock, no hand towels, no Kleenex, shower needs updated and the bottom of the tub is very slippery when it gets wet. There are signs that say that so that's a plus. The beds are perfect! Nice and comfy and the linens are so nice and plush! The manager is super nice and the grounds are clean. Would I stay again? Well heck ya! All in all it is a great place to stay, just a few updates and that takes time and money. If you like Mexican food, eat at the restaurant just down from the motel. So good!
