Beautiful property directly across from the water. the food was delish and the wait staff was amazing!

The location is good for the beach. The smell is bad inside. This is a party hotel. Shower was dirty and sporadic hot water. Bed is a brick.
The breakfast was good

Bad location bad water pressure poor staff breakfast was very poor food was cold and not cooked properly raw bacon the service was poor and not timely opened at 7:30 but took them till 8:00 to get all the food out and most of it was the day before left overs not good

We are very sorry that your experience at Mahara wasn't good. Our breakfast is always ready at 7 so it looks really weird that you complain about it not being ready at 8. The bacon is cooked at high temperature in the oven so it can't be raw. Maybe you like it more crispy.
As for the bad location, we are sorry to hear this since we are on the sea promenade, five minutes walk from the historical city centre... that's not a bad location! We are always ready to welcome constructive critics but your 1 score just look like an outburst. Best regards.

Alright for an overnight stay
Posted 22 Aug 2018 on HotelsThe hotel is ‘alright’. There’s small pool with loungers, but try sitting near it, a shuttle to the beach is another option. The superior room we had had a broken balcony door, however, the receptionist was helpful and moved us to another room. Whilst clean, the room did smell of stale smoke and the pillows were very hard, the bathroom decor tired. That said, it is an ‘alright’ hotel. We were passing through and stayed one night. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and it’s fairly well located with secure underground parking. More positive than negative on the whole but I wouldn’t rush back to the town. It’s suitable if you are in need of a well priced base before taking a couple of hours drive to Erice which was a welcome return to scenic, beautiful Sicily at its’ best.

The facility is mediocre. Location probably good for beach combers but not for others. Desk staff is very poor and failed us on numerous occasions. This is just a hotel for group tours.
