"Eden Estates was a bit hard to find but a great place for the night on our way to Krüger Park. All really nice, great kitchen, showers, beds. "

"The cleaning at this property is done superficially. They need to do a deep clean as there is dirt in the corners, smell from the sheets and blanket, dust on applicances and slime in the kettle. There was a service door to the bathroom which isn't itself a problem, but I could smell cigarette smoke coming through every so often in the morning."

"We arrived at the resort just after 5pm and was handed our keys with a map of where our unit was and a map of the various sites in the area. We noticed the shop was well stocked. When we got to our cabana, the unit was very clean, with a chocolate for each of us, some rusks and tea/coffee packs. The resort is very tranquil. It is close to every site in the lowveld. "

"Wonderful setting I must say! And the venue was well laid out with its ponds, etc. The rooms were drab, dark, old and small - it felt very crammed with all the furniture in it. There was a small fridge in the room, which was great, but there was no bottled water in the room and we had been told not to drink the tap water. The bathroom especially, was very poor - it had cracked tiles in the shower and weak water pressure, no shelves for toiletries, and the cistern took forever to fill up. We...

I would recommend staying here if you are in transit, however if wanting to tour the area there are probably more picturesque places that would enable you to walk from your accommodation."

"Very beautiful place in tranquil setting with all the needed goods in support. Place was clean and the fire places useful with the cold night. Like the baths in the bathroom making for a very romantic get away and setting"

"The expectation was not as it was advertised. Its a self catering but there is no refrigerator in the room. The building is delapidated with a smell. We ended up checking out early. "

"We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

"The physicality is breath taking! It is close enough to Johannesburg that a quick weekend getaway is doable without driving for untold hours before you reach your destination. This is quiet hideaway, and even though Wi-Fi availability is advertised, there is no cover in the accommodation that we used. Spotty Wi-Fi is available in the reception area. "This was the nicest property we stayed at during 3 weeks in SA. The only issue is the drive to the property is rough, making access to restaurants prohibitive. I recommend this property for isolation and relaxation."

Beautiful and relaxing

"Dunkeld is beautiful and so relaxing. They have a lot of activities and their restaurant's food is absolutely amazing! The room was beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. I would just not recommend the quad bike ride...that was really a waist of money."
