We had a a very enjoyable stay. The hotel was in a very quiet location with no traffic noise of any sort. The staff were extremely helpful and very polite . Would book again if I was travelling that way.

impressive hotel
Posted 13 Aug 2012 on HotelsWe enjoyed our stay, good staff and fairly priced food. However did not think the suite was worthy of the discription and also overpriced.

Very pleasant hotel

Pros: The location and the friendly staff
Cons: The dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Location: Rolling hills, not far from the idyllic Rutland Water and the very interesting Foxton Locks.
We liked this hotel and its location,in a quiet village.Their was plenty of parking for everyone.
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The bar and restaurant were nicely decorated with comfy seats. We were a little disappointed with the evening meal,it wasn't very tasty or very hot.Breakfast was sufficient although we didn't appear until 9.45am on the first morning and there was no fruit salad, the bowl was empty and no one filled it up .
As we liked the area I would be happy to stay at this hotel again although i would not have the evening meal there.I would eat at the nearby Royal George Hotel. We were also baffled to find that dogs were welcomed at the hotel, not exactly hygienic!!!!!!!

Needs some TLC
Posted 12 Aug 2012 on HotelsThe hotel staff are exemplary, kitchen staff (especially breakfast) bend over backwards to provide you a good start to the day. The Hotel is a wonderful oldy worldy place with beautiful peaceful surroundings however I would suggest that a little more attention is paid to the shower facilitiesand the cleanliness of the rooms. The cuisine is excellent and of biblical proportions, Just needs that little extra care in the bedrooms and they could doublethe room rate. One note, on Hotel.com it shows the hotel as being in Market Harbourough high street, my sat nav took me there but it is actually in Cottingham. H.Com - Please note! that is 13 km away and after the fun of the M1 the last thing you really want is an hotel hunt late at night!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, pleasant stay, I would recommend this hotel if you are in the Corby or Market Harborough area.

Looked like it needed some TLC and there were a number of things that didn't work in the room.
Also despite the postal address this is definitely not Market Harborough and should be made clearer.
