Lovely little hotel in a magnificent village

Pros: The host was really welcoming and helpful. Excellent directions on how drive to and park in Amsterdam and get the free ferry to the central station.
Location: Marken is stunning - really quaint little village, it doesn't feel real. Good place to eat at the harbour, the whole place is walkable. Beautiful.
Long weekend exploring Amsterdam and North Holland by car. Check in was quick, room was clean, breakfast was delicious. I recommend this hotel as a great base for exploring if you're travelling by car, Marken was a wonderful, calm contrast to the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Best of both worlds!

Hof Van Marken - well worth the visit

Pros: Location, price.
Cons: My only complaint is there was no coffee maker in the room.
Location: Beautiful old Holland - this area tells the story; why the Dutch built dams, how it was once a great shipping and fishing community. Near city.
Quaint B&B experience. Wifi - perfect remote location but close enough to the city if you want that too. Wished I could have stayed longer and seen more of the area.

Marken is beautiful and a delight to visit. This hotel has a monopoly and offers good quality at a premium. Breakfast was excellent but pricey.

Good hotel but miles away from Amsterdam

Good hotel but in the middle of nowhere if you're visiting Amsterdam. It's really a B&B with a restaurant. Very helpful landlady. Marken, where the hotel is, is a quaint little place on the coast. Looks like something from a fairytale story. If you're after a nice peaceful location you could do worse. If you want to commute to Amsterdam it's more than 40 minutes away by bus and 65 euros away by taxi. A good solution would be to stay here and hire a car.
