The Katebe Gallery was an amazing place to stay. Right on the beach with a beautiful view of Maputo. The staff are top tier and very friendly and helpful.
Only downside (if you could call it that) is that the area is very quiet with not much going on in the evening- and everything requires a taxi across the bridge

Lovely hotel but some renovations necessary.
Posted 10 Feb 2023 on HotelsNice hotel, great staff, good service, great location and delicious food! We really loved it all. But…renovations/repairs are urgently needed. Large damp spots in the room due to problems in the bathroom. The toilet leaks water every time you flush. Same when using the sink. The sockets also need to be reviewed. There could be a few more and maybe a USB port too.

Posted 9 Jun 2021 on HotelsI booked 1 night in the Chalet Room With my girlfriend. Upon arrival I am informed the Jacuzzi is not working. I was compensated with dinner. However, I also did not have working sinks either and there was no shower in the room. The description of the room says "private bathroom". In reality it is a private toilet only. The room has it's own wifi access but I was not able to connect on either my phone or tablet. Fortunately they offered me access to a second room to shower in the morning and access to the main hotel wifi to conduct my business. The bed was NOT a king bed, it was 2 twin beds next to each other and the were very UNcomfortable. The middle of the bed were the 2 mattresses meet was very hard as they were the edges of the 2 mattresses and it was impossible to lay together because the mattresses kept separating. This made it extremely difficult for any "romance". There was no temperature controls in the room. The room temp was about 41* and there was a window above the jacuzzi that would not shut and had no hardware to close it which kept the room cold. The description of the room also says there are "blackout" drapes but there was a fog light just outside of the patio which kept the room fairly well illuminated. Not to mention the lights going to the room were all not functional. From the pool down the stairs, around the walkway and in between the buildings was solid black. very unsafe for any guest in dangerous JNB. no shuttle offered. Ants consumed my dinner.
