On the old side but amenities are ok. A bit of of overcrowding at the lobby maybe due to events i.e. wedding receptions, etc

The history and traditions. Compared to previous stays, I found many room features in slifht disrepair.

My favorite hotel in all the world! The history, the architecture, the food, the rooms—-both in the “old” section and in the tower—-everything about the place inspires. As I think Hemingway said “the Manila Hotel is perfect.” I couldn’t agree more. The magnificent breakfast often included with the room rate remains the best. And lunch and dinner in the main restaurant (where breakfast is served as well) offers you great variety and the finest quality. Every trip I make to the Philippines starts at the Manila Hotel when a hotel representative meets me at the airport after my 26 hour flight!
