Great location
Posted 2 Nov 2018 on HotelsNice cabin with a fire pit out front. It is a nice dark area and it offers privacy except from people in the other 3 cabins. It is close enough to town to get groceries and offers a quite nights sleep.

Small, rustic cabins sitting near the lake
Posted 28 Sep 2018 on HotelsEverything was in good shape and clean when I arrived, and everything worked well (shower pressure, electric, fridge). Bed was a little soft for my liking but overall a nice area. Would love to come back in the summer!

A laid-back sort of place that was a great place to rest. We didn't see another person until late in the afternoon of our second day! Check-in was easy, appliances are working great (except the TV), and the beds were very comfortable. TV reception is very poor, but we didn't need it anyway.

Beautiful, clean but toilet ran constantly and phone number for check out was no longer in servive. Stove set off smoke alarm but mo smoke was seen.

Great little cabin
Posted 21 Oct 2017Ok, first, these aren't out in the middle of the woods if that's what you're looking for. They are in a rural area, however, and are about 200 feet from a nice lake. Great little getaway and Scott was excellent to work with. Field of Dreams movie site is about a half hour away, so we made sure to check that out as well. Would definitely stay there again.

If you're the type that enjoys a few creature comforts but prefers to be on your own from start to finish, then this is paradise. Leave your expectations of the urban 5-star spa resort behind and come enjoy being responsible for yourself in a secluded corner of rural Americana off the beaten path.

No cell service
Posted 27 Jul 2017 on HotelsWe enjoyed the cabin itself. We had cabin #3 which had 2 full beds and a full kitchen, fully stocked with pots and pans, dishes, silverware, a toaster, etc. There was a window air conditioner which was not turned on prior to our arrival, so it took a while for the cabin to cool down. There was a storm coming in, so it cooled off outside, it was nice that the windows opened (screens). The biggest downside for me was that my cellphone had ZERO service. T-Mobile. Another friend staying had AT&T and hers didn't work either. Only sprint did. There was no telephone in the cabin and satellite TV was spotty at best. There was a DVD player so we bought my daughter a DVD at Walmart so she'd have something to do in the morning while we were cleaning up (Taking garbage out, washing dishes) and packing up.

This is our 4th year and this is the first time I had anyone bring this issue to my attention but I believe it as it is my understanding from friends and family who switched to At&t had bad luck with the service here in the Cedar Rapids, Manchester area in general and had to switch back to their old service. I don't know anyone with Boost mobile I don't think so sorry that didn't work either....
I know Verizon, Iowa Wireless and Us Cellular some of the more popular services in the area do work decently. (Wanted to add that for the readers of this review)
As we invest in improvements annually, we just installed wifi this weekend so if you do come back maybe that will be another means of communication and entertainment for you.
