We had a nice stay away from everything. The place & bedding was clean. The towels were handy. Nice hot water. They had some beer and firewood for sale which was awesome. Although the place was in good condition they can pay some attention to the smaller things like the broken light by the stairs outside.

Good halfway stop to Johannesburg
Posted 10 Oct 2016 on HotelsGreat halfway stop for family
by Hannes from A bit of the road and the dirt road to the farm has very loose gravel demanding slower speeds, but the location, quietness and animals, are well worth it.
Should have stayed longer...

Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night
Posted 31 Mar 2016 on HotelsA little off the beaten track but definitely worth it. Beautiful setting, very quiet at night, no noise or light pollution. Only criticism - not directed towards the venue but to Hotels.com. It does not have a restaurant or Wi-Fi. It's a wedding venue, that's where the food/restaurant comes in. The chalets are fully equipped so you can bring your own food - highly advisable. Fridge, cooker, microwave, utensils, crockery, cutlery. We didn't want to trek back to Harrismith for food, a wonderful gentleman did sell us some prepared chicken pies (yum) and a Swiss roll - and milk. He was awesome. He did ask who we booked through and suggested he would contact Hotels.com about misleading info.

Remote lodge set in an amazing landscape
Posted 6 Dec 2013Very basic, down a long dirt road, minimal interaction with staff, bring supplies before you get there. Amazing views and take time out to explore the estate which has various wild animals roaming. views make up for the very basic lodgings
