Fantastic stay, the room was well maintained and comfortable. The food was amazing, especially the nice big breakfast. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

The hotel location was ideal for my onward travel the nrxt morning. The staff were really helpful at check-in and in the bar/restaurant. I was informed that breakfast started at 08:00 and when I said that I would be leaving before breakfast started a pre-prepared breakfast snack and water was provided for me the following morning.

We stayed at the Ham and Cheese for two nights as a family (with a 3 and 6 year old). The room was perfect - spacious, clean and had one massive bed and two single beds. The bathroom was sperate and further away from the bedroom which was nice. The pub wasnt too noisy in the evening and totally silent once people had left. We ate twice in the evening and the food was really good. The staff were great. The only negative was at the bottom of the stairs before coming into the room it smelt really badly of sewage. This smell wasnt in the main part of the pub or the room though. Otherwise, the location was convenient. We used it as a base to drive across to the coast one day, and York the next.

Clean and comfortable room. Had a meal in the pub which was excellent. Owner and staff very friendly.
