Hotel Catullo - Malcesine, Lake Garda
Posted 20 Sep 2018 on HotelsHotel Carullo is situated near the cable car in Malcesine. It is five minutes walk to the cobbled streets in the old part of the town and no more than a few more minutes to the lakeside. Lovely swimming pool and gardens to relax in. Plenty of sun loungers available. There was also a cabin selling drinks and ice creams by the pool, and there was also a gym . Staff very helpful. We had a large bedroom with a
mountain view. Breakfast was good.

Wonderful hotel
Posted 27 Aug 2018A really nice, comfortable hotel. It's beautifully decorated with modern amenities and the staff/owners are very attentive.
It has a wonderful quite location, a stroll from the hustle of the old town. And located away from the noisy main road.
It has a pool and easily accessible parking spaces, which is a must if your travelling by car to Malcesine. I would happily stay again.

Wonderful hotel in a fabulous location
Posted 7 Jun 2018 on HotelsFantastic small privately run and owned hotel. From the start to the finish nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Excellent clean, room with perfect bathroom and balcony overlooking the well kept and stocked gardens. Good choice at breakfast which was taken on the wide sun terrace/patio with both hot and cold choices and with plenty of fresh food from the area, meats, cheeses, fruit, cakes, pastries, biscuits etc. Best hotel coffee ever! Swimming pool and various terraces extremely well catered for with tables, chairs, sunloungers for everyone, no need to reserve! Various areas to sit so that you were not being crowded. Pool was very clean and well maintained, excellent. Hotel is well positioned in a quiet side street but an easy walk into the quaint cobbled town of Malcesine with its superb castle, port, church, restaurants, bars and cable car to the top of Monte Baldo with its tremendous views over Lake Garda. All in all a fabulous hotel in a wonderful location giving a fantastic weeks holiday.

Wonderful hotel, owners, and area!!!
Posted 24 May 2018 on HotelsI highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Malcesine or in the northern area of Lake Garda, Italy. This hotel was fantastic. It is family owned and operated, to include the friendly puppy dog named “Crusca.” The breakfast is better than you traditional / basic European hotel breakfast. This hotel has only 16 rooms which adds to the family type atmosphere. Just a 2 minutes walk to the funivia (funicular) up to Monte Baldo; also just a short 5-minute downhill walk to the castle in Malcesine overlooking the lake. The hotel’s WiFi connection is very good, as well. My only regret is that I didn’t have a few more days to stay here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!

Pros: Its central location, cleanliness and superb shower
Cons: The simple breakfasts
Location: The town's many fabulous shops, restaurants and bars are a five minute walk away, as is the lakeside and boats, with the cable car station next door
This hotel couldn't be bettered for location - it is less than a 5 minute walk to the centre of Malcesine with the cable car station almost next door! However, despite being in the heart of the town, it is wonderfully quiet (although we were the only people staying there at the time). The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and the room/bathroom was spotlessly clean. There was a well-stocked fridge in the room (we weren't sure whether the mini-bar was complimentary even though we couldn't find a price list) but we would have preferred tea/coffee making facilities instead. The shower was the best we've encountered in any hotel in the world, but I found the bed a little hard and the breakfasts were disappointingly simple. These are minor points though - the hotel's good points more than made up for its shortcomings.

Lovely little place in a great destination
Posted 7 Jul 2015 on Hotelsthe catullo is lovely. The rooms are pretty basic but they are clean and big enough. To be honest you aren't in them much, malcesine is a beautiful town to look around and eat andr ink and when in the hotel the outdoor pool is very nice. There is a gym too and the bar decking area is good.
Location wise the catullo is perfect as cars can't go down into the cobbled part of malcesine so the catullo is just off the main road which is good for taxis or cars.
Finally the staff are very pleasant and the whole trip was great (and surprisingly didn't break the bank).

They didn't have space for me!!
Posted 8 Jun 2014I turned up to the hotel to be told that they had no space left for me. This was done in a matter of fact way - no apology and minimal explanation of what the hell happened or what was going on. It was almost like I was an inconvenience.
I was asked to pay(!) and told they would take me to an alternative hotel just a few minute walk away with an equivalent room. Fair enough, but if I had wanted to stay in the other hotel, then that's where I'd have stayed!
The alternative hotel was fine but this review isn't on that hotel. And neither was my booking.

Catullo malcesine
Posted 13 May 2014 on HotelsAll in all a nice hotel very close to the centre of Malcesine , breakfast was ok but choice was very limited, room was nice bright and clean with a nice balcony, bathroom was a bit cramped. The pool itself was clean but the surrounding area and gardens could have been better maintained.
