Another case of what could have been
Posted 29 Dec 2023 on HotelsNot good. Got a window-less room with paper-thin walls, could hear the bloke next door talk to the missus/kids on the phone (tbf wasnt even talking loudly), others snore etc. Breakfast was also poor (at least the 'gaijin' part of it)
It's a pity cause the location is great, rental bikes are free, there are plenty of cafes/things to do nearby.

We booked a non smoking room but it found it to have a stale odour. They changed us to another room which wasn’t as bad but still had the odour. Room itself was very good with the traditional rock hard pillow but when you ask for non smoking you expect to get it.

Unfortunately, Maizuru is a city likely visited on weekends mostly. A lot of places we wanted to see were open only on weekends. Most restaurants and stores were closed. We got something for two of our three dinners at the very nice shopping center on the east side of the train station. The hotel had a microwave and toaster oven. A lot of guests were eating this way. Good breakfast at the hotel. Staff were very helpful with calling a cab and with giving directions. The repatriation museum was an eye opener to a part of history I knew nothing about.

OK to stay for a night.
Posted 28 May 2018 on HotelsOK for biz trip. Very basic amenities. view from room is NIL. Breakfast needs big time improvement. There are many restaurants nearby so survival is not a big deal.
