Jenny was lovely and helpful. Travis lacks people skills. He was arrogant and acted petulant after a discussion about a key disaster at the house. He would be preparing food and washing up at midnight with the kitchen right next to our bedroom, clanging crockery on the tiled bench, keeping me awake. Someone was slushing out the bathroom next to us at 10.30 at night when we were trying to sleep.
The house was very hot. The bathroom was dank and smelt musty. It took 3 days fir things to dry in there. No airflow.
The beach near the house is full fishing boats and fishing gear. Buses come in the hour to get around the island.

Greetings and good day from Villa Bethlehem.
Thank you for your comments.
From what we gathered it seems that your holiday was not to your expectations and all of that started after the room key was lost and never found.
Following a request to settle for the new lock we noticed that your character changed drastically which forces you to complaint over a one time late snacks that was being prepared for another guests in-house.
Knowing that your room was on the first floor, we believe that this was not the reasons for you to complain over disturbance at night.
It is to be noted that the weather was indeed very hot thus this should have not been a problem to dry your clothes with the help of our racks provided in all rooms which you can use i.e. in bathroom or at the wooden decking alongside the terrace.
Anse Boileau is protected with a bay and nice beaches. There is a community of fisherman and I will not be surprise if fishing boats are nearby, while the main street are just 60 meters away from Villa Bethlehem with a public transport services designed for the local community hence used by visitors. To help mitigate the movements of our guests we have in all rooms a detailed bus schedule with free maps issued to guests.
This help them to plan ahead and don't waste unnecessary timing i.e. on bus stops or on the roads.
Having said that we hope that we have enlighten the doubts of other guests that would love to experience Villa Bethlehem.

Having read the previous reviews before booking, we knew going in that the hotel was more of an "Air Bnb" or home stay. The family who runs Villa Bethlehem live on site, on the second floor, and the kitchen/living room/restroom/bedrooms are on the main floor. It certainly feels like a home as opposed to a hotel.
The staff was very friendly and more than happy to share their experience with the various tourist sites and beaches of the island. We had rented a car, and the place was easy to find, with ample parking. When we arrived, they were waiting for us, and we had no problems checking in. The room was clean and had working air conditioning. They offered to cook us meals (for a fee, obviously), but also let us have access to their fridge/utensils free of charge.
The only thing that I was particularly unhappy about was that they wanted to charge was 1 euro per piece of clothing for laundry. I was certainly not interested in spending almost 30 euros to do laundry for the two of us! In the end, we just got a laundry detergent bar of soap from a store close by and did it ourselves.
Overall, I enjoyed the place and would definitely come back if staying in Mahe again!

Greetings from Villa Bethlehem.
Thank you for your comments.
We noticed from what we read that there was a miss interpretations on our laundry charges which are Euro 1 per washed.
Should all clothes be washed together, it would have cost you Euro 1
Unless there are colored linen which needs segregation, then for each washing we would apply Euro 1
We apologies that this was only pointed now and we hope that this will help other guests to know in the near future.
The above is for your information.

Greetings from Villa Bethlehem.
Dear Guests.
Thank you for your input.
Indeed, last minutes are sometimes missed out especially if it is booked hours before arrival.
Rooms are available with private bathrooms although the one offered was annex to your room and that do not mean that it was being shared as all rooms have their own facilities.

Villa Bethlehem is a B&B.....
Posted 1 Oct 2015 on HotelsWell to say we were disappointed would be an understatement because we did NOT expect to be staying in somebody's house. It was an unbelievably awkward situation as we felt we just intruding. If we had wanted to stay in a B&B we would have booked that.....we assumed it was a part of a villa where we would have our own space. It wasn't far from the beach but otherwise there is nothing else in the immediate area apart from a few food shops and one restaurant that only opens in the evening and not on Sundays....so we were pretty hungry that day! Unfortunately the weather was awful and it rained for 3 days, so we were pretty much housebound. The couple who own Villa Bethlehem are kind and offered us food but we thought that 20 euros a head for breakfast was a tad steep!!
All in all it was clean and tidy....nice a/c in the bedroom and a huge bathroom for one of the rooms but it was just not what it said on the tin and it felt pretty awkward most of the time. We did explain to them that we felt it was mis-represented and so they wouldn't accept money for our boiled eggs and toast breakfast.
