"While Punta Arenas isn’t a town you’d spend more than a day or two in, having at least two nights at this hotel allows you to enjoy its many amenities. Perched on a hill overlooking the downtown, the hotel entrance is at the end of a rough cobblestone street. Parking can be limited during restaurant hours, but we always found a spot. There are quite a few steps up to the hotel and then a few more up to your rooms, but there is always a young, friendly and energetic staff member to take your luggage to your room. From the moment you step into the courtyard garden and on to the reception room you will notice that this hotel is filled with old-world new -world charm. We stayed in the room called, “Stable” which had a balcony and separate sitting room that overlooked the glass enclosed restaurant and the town below. Creaky floors, modern bathroom, and rustic chic decor put you in the mood for the traditional Chilean meals served in the cozy and popular hotel restaurant. The restaurant staff (wearing traditional clothing) was exceptionally friendly and attentive to boot. Punta Arenas is, arguably more so than Ushuaia, THE town to see penguins. Book a boat tour to Magdalena Island to see Magellanic penguins or better yet take the ferry across to Porvenir to see one of the few king penguin colonies north of the S. Georgian Islands (requires an additional 2 hour drive). Be sure to book these two adventures well in advance though! Then enjoy returning to your charming hotel! "

"Excellent no thrills hotel. Attentive staff. Restaurant is good but did get overwhelmed when they were the only place in town open but the wine kept flowing so all was good."

"We had a great 3 night stay at this location. Sarah and Rodrigo have painstakingly built this home with meticulous attention to every small detail. Sarah is very responsive. When we requested a gas stove and refills for the gas, she gave us everything we need very quickly within minutes. In addition they are great local guides, very helpful to be able to ask questions in English. We'd love to stay again if we visit Punta Arenas"

"The staff was so friendly and helpful. They arranged lunch, an early breakfast and a massage for my family. The room was spacious, the roof is amazing (with a view) and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend!!"

"Excellent hotel and location. Many flight crew stayed here also. Overall great location and stay. We needed two bed and selected the upgraded room upon online booking but still needed to negotiate the “upgrade” on arrival which was accommodated without paying more again. "

"The hostel is clean, well maintained and friendly service. The beds are comfortable and showers has lots of very very hot water. The hotel is centrally located so can walk every where. Breakfast is free (coffee, eggs, toast, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal and fruit salad). Also can take breakfast to go. "

"Nice place for an overnight prior to Antarctica trip. No elevator is the only downside. "
