My son and I arrived after having spent a week in Saccarum resort in Calheta. Our flight was canceled and we had to pivot our stay here. The facilities, though beautiful and historic, left much to be desired. The room we had in the Manor house had no air-conditioning And was infested with bugs in the bed. The staff was quick to move us to a room that was only a double bed, but promised us air conditioning. The air conditioning did not work. We saw remnants of bugs but no live activity. When we checked out, the staff couldn’t have cared less. It’s safe to say we will never return here .

However, we understand that this does not excuse the issues you encountered, and we take your feedback very seriously.The Manor House, where you stayed initially, recently underwent maintenance, and you were among the first guests to occupy it post-renovation. Due to the challenging circumstances Madeira has faced recently, including the airport closure and wildfires, we may have acted too quickly in making these rooms available. We deeply regret that this impacted your experience and will be more cautious in the future.Regarding the air conditioning, we have confirmed that it was activated by our reception team after your room change, and no further issues were reported. Nevertheless, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused initially.Our team is known for being exceptionally dedicated and service-oriented, which makes your comment about them not caring at checkout particularly concerning. This may have been a result of the pressure from the events we were managing at the time, but it is certainly not an excuse, and we are truly sorry for this impression.We understand that a stay of only one night might not have been sufficient to fully appreciate the special experience Quinta da Bela Vista can offer. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide the exceptional experience that so many of our guests enjoy.Thank you once again for your feedback, and we sincerely hope to welcome you back one day.

I was expecting much better places and more activities not activities so poor

This is a beautifully maintained property with great views over Funchal. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful.
