Very quiet but outdated and dark no sun at all hence. A smell of mold

Posted 15 Jul 2017 on HotelsFor us this was a perfect stay, couldn't fault it. Lovely people, so generous, kind and thoughtful. An abundance of fresh produce daily left. Lovely accommodation, clean, with own small garden and patio with hammock. Private and peaceful - just what we wanted. A short walk to the centre of Santana with bars, restaurants and shops. Thank you to hosts Esteva and Monica - we would love to come back.

Fantastic place to stay
Posted 8 Jan 2017More than exceeded our expectations of a rural getaway. Fresh bread delivered each morning was a delight. Spacious accommodation and everything needed for a relaxing stay.
Santana is a brilliant base for exploring the area - levada walks are stunning and easily accessible.

damp and fusty not good for chest conditions

Pros: nice location
Cons: sorting the smell of damp out
lovely location, owners very pleasant, but on entering the room the smell of damp hit you in the face, mosquitoes lots of them in the room, cats and kittens all over, decided not to stay moved on to another hotel

Pros: The location, the quiet, how friendly and helpful the owner was.
Location: Walking
I had a fantastic stay. If you want somewhere quiet with fantastic views and a wonderful host then this is the place for you. It isn't for someone looking for a resort holiday, but for someone looking for a base to explore and to enjoy some relaxation.

Chambres bien agencées, petit déjeuner directement dans la chambre et le pain amené frais du matin! La dame qui était là nous a bien conseillé et rendu service plusieurs fois :)
Seul point négatif, salle de bain glaciale et humide. Heureusement dans la chambre il y avait de l'air conditionné!

schöne Anlage, von innen leider katastrophal

Sehr nette Betreiber, leider ist die Unterkunft total feucht und riecht extrem muffig. Das Bad ist die reinste Katastrophe, das Abwasser kommt aus dem Boden (Fliesenfugen) raus, riecht wie in einer öffentlichen Toilette. Die Sofakissen im Wohnzimmer sind voller Flecken. Bei der Bettwäsche bzw. Bettdecke, bestehend aus einem Bettlaken + Kolderdecke prangte auf der Kolder ein dunkler unübersehbarer Fleck. Das Frühstück wird einem am Vortag in den Kühlschrank gelegt und jeden Morgen frisches warmes Brot an die Tür gehängt. Leider gibt es keinen frischen Kaffee sondern nur Instantkaffee und zum Belegen jeden Morgen das gleiche 1 Sorte Käse + 1 Sorte Schinken (immer die gleiche Sorte) und selbstgemachten Kompott im Glas der bei Verbrauch nachgefüllt wird (auch nur 1 Sorte vorhanden). Die Lage ist wunderbar und auch die Anlage an sich, wenn man sich ein bisschen mehr Mühe machen würde, vor allem was Sauberkeit, Instandhaltung, Einrichtung angeht.

Calm and cosy

Pros: It was very calm and private. No big tourist gathering.
Cons: We were very happy with everything.
Location: There is a big supermarket nearby. We made a path walk down a cliff and took the santana cable car up. Levada caldeirao verde is 10 min away by car.
We had a very nice stay at casas do pomar. The staff and the owner were very friendly and give us good recommendations about tours around santana.
The room were very cosy and the beds soft. We had a big terrace to enjoy our included breakfast. The room was cleaned every day. For animal friends it's a great place. You have sweet cats around the neighborhood, also chickens and goats. Perfect for recreation.
