"The staff and management is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were subpar but clean enough. No aircon which was fine but no hot water either. The showers were non functional and no buckets were provided till requested. The property is isolated and tough to find. However for the price and for someone seeking a secluded no frills stay with kind and helpful staff I recommend the hotel."

"Such a stunning property in a relaxing location. Just what we needed after an early morning train journey and visit to the temple. The host made our group of six very welcome and we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the villa. The architecture is a credit to the owner, who designed and furnished it himself. "This is a beautiful and well-designed hotel in a unique location next to the lake and jungle. The staff were attentive and thoughtful. The only downside was the dining options - the menus are international and expensive, and the remote location of the hotel makes it difficult to eat elsewhere. We would have preferred more local Sri Lankan options. However, the buffet breakfast was varied and impressive."
