Lyngdal is a village in Vest-Agder and one of the gems of Southern Norway. The municipality boasts several fjords, with Lehnesfjorden glowing green during summer thanks to the rich algae population and Rosfjorden being known for its high salt content, meaning that it rarely freezes. If nature experiences are high on your wish list, we recommend visiting Skrelia – the most famous hiking area in Lyngdal. The path is accessible and Skrelifossen peak offers fantastic views across the ocean. The area is situated around 7 miles from the town centre and is easy to find.
Bring your entire family on an active trip to Lyngdal and visit Sørlandsbadet, an obvious item on the holiday agenda. The water park is situated in Rosfjord, just over a mile from the centre of Lyngdal and is open all year round. Wave pools, slides, Jacuzzis and outdoor bathing islands are some of the many facilities on offer at Sørlandsbadet. Bring the children and hire a canoe at Kvavik Camping or simply enjoy boating in Lyngdalsfjorden.
Lyngdal is easy to reach from the UK. You can fly to Kristiansand Airport in a domestic flight from Oslo or Bergen, and take the train for an hour to Snartemo from where you can catch a bus to the centre.
