"We were staying in Dubrovnik but had planned to have one overnight trip to Lumbarda via Korcula to explore the region. When we landed off the boat taxi in Korcula, we initially wondered why we had bothered, as it seemed like sleepy town, but once we had had a coffee and ice cream, and been picked up by Ksenija, our host, and whisked to our spotless apartment with wonderful views of the town and the bay, treated to local wine, bread and cheese, we quickly warmed to the place. "This was one of my favorite places ever. The hosts are lovely people who know how to care for their guests. The apartment was so wonderful with a stunning view. It was such a pleasure to wake early to a beautiful sunrise over the Adriatic Sea. Lumbarda is a perfect small village with a lovely bay. Korcula is only 5 km away and is a historical treasure. We hope to return again for a longer visit."
