"Parkgate is a great place to stay for a day or two in Cardiff. Walking distance from Cardiff Market, Castle and high street. Great food options and shopping nearby. The staff was great and very helpful. The spa (which is a separate business located in the hotel) wasn’t our favorite but the hotel itself is great. Definitely recommend."

The restaurant options was handy to have and of decent quality with MPW. Main negatives were lack of hand towels - seemed to be a shortage in the hotel as other people having this issue. Last time we stayed, we had complimentary drinks in the fridge, however, this was not provided on this stay so a little disappointing. Room was smaller than ones we had stayed in previously. "Good property, spacious room and comfortable beds. We were in a King Suite which was comfortable but oddly laid out. Main light controls were in 402 but we were told 401 and our key only works for that door, so we had to stumble through to find them. Room overly hot. Keys stopped working when we came in at 130am, had to call night manager twice to get in our room. Breakfast - basic fare, bacon and pancakes were overcooked and hard. Worth the room rate but improvements could be made."
