A good place to stay to explore the surrounding town.

I paid so that I would be able to sleep. However, although I realised that the pub was playing music I was expecting that it would stop at 11pm (or at least within 10 minutes afterwards). Perhaps I should have asked earlier but slightly worried with lots drinking. As it was now 00.15 I finally want tell the barman that I paid to sleep. Now I definitely want my money back. This should never be used for a hotel if they play music so loud in the late evenings.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the King's Arms. The landlord & barman friendly & welcoming. The room & ensuite was clean, comfortable beds and everything provided that we needed. Competitive price too. Would most definitely recommend and will go back next time we are down in Cornwall.

This is the kind of hotel that is a pub with rooms above, so the details about check-in time being 3pm-7pm are not correct, you can check in during the evening. The room itself was clean and all up to standard. The shower was very good. It was a shame that the latch on the sash window was missing (broken off) - even though the room was on 3rd floor I would have felt more secure being able to latch it. I mentioned this on checking out. You reach the rooms via the staff corridor behind the bar and up carpeted stairs, and as the pub welcomes well behaved dogs, this could be an issue for anyone with allergies as the carpet was not very clean and did have dog hair. Breakfast is cooked by the pub chef from about 10am. As I had to leave earlier, the landlord kindly let me have some tea and toast for free though I had to go in the kitchen and make this myself. The welcome was friendly and the room itself and facilities were good, though I didn't think the mattress was the comfiest. For the price paid, all in all it was reasonable.
