Los Pinos Park in Todos Santos is a pleasant spot for a break from the sun or some rest between other busy activities. The quiet park has pines and palms for shade. Sit on a bench and sip a cold drink while your children happily play on the equipment. The varied climbing ramps and slides can provide hours of fun.
A short stone wall surrounds the park and serves as additional bench seating. Hold your toddlers’ hands as they walk along this continuous raised wall as if it were a tightrope. Older kids may enjoy the paved area where they can skateboard or ride bikes. The site also has a small tiered amphitheater that is sometimes used for community events, such as the showing of movies during the Festival de Cine Todos Santos that happens every spring.
The park is close to other highlights of Todos Santos. A nicely maintained baseball field is just a couple blocks south you may see the Todos Santos Cañeros team playing here. Walk north and you will pass several popular spots, such as the Hotel California and Emporio Gallery. Across the street is the Jill Logan Gallery. View the colorful arch and step inside to study the artist’s interesting work.
Continue north to arrive at the Todos Santos Plaza, one of the most popular parts of town. This central square hosts festivities throughout the year its gazebo is lit up with a decorated Christmas tree and strings of lights during the year-end holidays. Step into the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Church to see religious artifacts from several centuries. Also near the square is the Teatro Cine General Manuel Márquez de León, where many local arts programs occur.
When you finish playing or relaxing in Los Pinos Park, walk with the family a couple blocks east to have lunch or dinner at some of the best local restaurants in Todos Santos, The inexpensive meals and icy cold drinks complement the free admission at the park to provide a very affordable family vacation day in this resort town.
