The location is convenient for visiting family nearby. Beaches are pretty close as well. Having a Starbucks in the lobby is a good idea. It makes the morning easy. The room was nice and spacious. There are at least 3 different restaurants for dinner. We liked the steakhouse the best for dining.

This was very convenient location for an overnight layover at LAX. Everything was fine and as expected with the hotel - we even got ground floor pool-facing room so could just walk outside to the pool (no time to take advantage of this though). However: 1. figuring out where to catch the airport shuttle to the hotel after landing at LAX, was not easy for first-timers - you need to find the red-painted kerbside where hotel shuttles pick-up/drop-off - the airport signage was very unhelpful so don't rely on these to direct you to the right place. 2. restaurants within the hotel were expensive. Ended up eating a 25-dollar burger which was OK but not amazing. There were no cheap eateries within easy walking distance (it being LA this may not be surprising) 3. free wifi in the hotel required joining Marriott's Bonvoy club, which was free, so we joined, but this wouldn't necessarily cause us to choose Marriott over other suppliers in future.
