Very cosy
Posted 16 Feb 2024 on HotelsWonderful and cosy comfortable place to stay. We had a 5 night stay and would have been nice to have had our room serviced at least a couple of times but not once?.? Bathroom a little too small, i struggled in the tiny shower cubicle. Beds excellent and super cosy! Breakfast very good.

Breakthrough Case!
Posted 10 Sep 2021 on HotelsThe pandemic doomed our Wedding Anniversary travel to Svalbard and in fact we never made it.
Though we had a “nonrefundable” reservation, we were unable to —reschedule—(they are not the same thing!!!) our plans we had travel insurance. We wanted no reimbursement. We just wanted to set a new date. Our Finnair flights plans changed several times, making our stop on Svalbard not possible.
Our disappointment was great. Basecamp, which really does look amazing!!!, would not allow us to reschedule on our original booking. Basecamp offered to send a letter about our not staying in the hotel and so I forwarded that to the travel insurance, which was to no affect..
We were out a thousand dollars and felt there was no recourse in sight.
I really only write positive reviews. This planning was just a victim of Covid and even though I was “vaccinated” (travel insurance), I still got sick (charged the full amount).

We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Unfortunatley the booking made was non-refoundable, which does not allow refounds or changes in dates. In the times of Covid we have limited ability to make exceptions to this. We realize that this does not make your experience better, but we hope you understand. Great location for resturaunts and makes for easy pick-up for activities. Staff were very friendly and helped me book activities with local companies. Good breakfast options available including oat milk and fruit if you want to avoid animal products. Room was quirky and clean, with plenty of space if you have lots of luggage.
