Walk among many acres of lush gardens in East Hampton and discover a stunning array of sculptures and art installations.

Nature and art converge at LongHouse Reserve. Find the 16-acre (6.5-hectare) property in the center of East Hampton, New York. Founded by renowned textile designer Jack Lenor Larsen, LongHouse Reserve seamlessly brings museum-quality pieces into a beautiful garden setting.

The gardens at LongHouse Reserve were created to represent the interaction between plants and people in today’s world. Its extensive plant collections change with the seasons, meaning that you could have completely different experiences depending on the time of year that you visit. Walk among the thick conifers of Ray’s Way or the lush flowers of Scree Garden.

Admire the Claus Bury Bridge or rest under the red wooden structure that is the Richard Lear Memorial. Relax on a bench next to Peter’s Pond or enjoy the cool shade of the Gate House.

Amid the colorful blooms, admire an array of contemporary sculptures. Over the years, Jack Lenor Larsen has collected dozens of pieces from some of today’s finest artists, such as Alexander Calder, Gaston Lachaise, Larry Rivers, Willem de Kooning and more. Browse through the Sculpture in the Garden exhibits to see the permanent and temporary pieces on display. Don’t miss its standout pieces, such as Yoko Ono’s white chess board or Sol Lewitt’s cubist towers.

LongHouse Reserve is considered a museum, so enjoy it in a quiet and contemplative manner. Explore its grounds at your own leisurely pace. Bring your mobile phone along to access a tour narrated by Jack Lenor Larsen himself.

Check the calendar to see if there will be any special events happening during your visit. LongHouse Reserve hosts educational tours, workshops, festivals and other functions throughout the year.
