Area was nice and felt secure, walking distance to Victoria station and close to nice shops and Harrods. Our hotel room was clean and neat. Breakfast was included and was very nice. Owners are involved in the service and were very pleasant, they even allowed us to leave our luggage as we need to go on a tour after checking out.Overall highly recommended and will definitely stay again if ever we go back to London.

The Windermere was a beautiful property. We wanted an older hotel with character, and the building had that. The complimentary breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was quite good.

The hotel itself was fine, but I was put into a small, close basement room. The size was to be expected for a single room, but it smelled musty, and was airless. Even though it was not warm outside, I still put on the A/C in order to sleep. Breakfast was fine.

The hotel is very quaint and in a nice neighborhood. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was for 3 people so it was a little crowded but the beds were comfy and had a very small tight bathroom but it was clean and nice. Only place we stayed on our trip that had actual wash cloths. Our room came with breakfast but we had to leave for the airport by 6:00 AM. They brought us coffee, yogurt with granola on it and toast and jam at 5:30AM to our room. That was so nice and we very much appreciated it.

To be fair, I did book a room described as "perfect for a solo traveler". so I expected small. But miniscule would be a better description. it was about the size of a walk-in closet, at below the street level so you couldn't even have the window open to give it a little light. The desk staff were less than helpful when asked for directions, etc.

Great stay at the Windermere. The included full breakfast was amazing as was the restaurant staff. It is about a 10 minute walk to Victoria Station which will get you everywhere you want to go.

The property was smaller than I expected. The rooms are extremely small. It's an older hotel but the staff is attentive. The breakfast was wonderful. It wasn't the usual buffet but you order from the menu.

This hotel has a truly excellent breakfast - both the service and selection. 5 stars! The rooms are cosy. All conveniences are provided . Larger persons, may have an issue. I did not. Location - the hotel is centrally located around 9 minutes from Victoria station -though with heavy luggage it may feel a bit longer. The location is a convenient walking distance to central London - Westminster abbey, Houses of Parliament , the south bank, - and accessible via Victoria station from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. This hotel would tick all the right boxes but for one unexplained quirk- on a booking of 2 rooms - with one pre paid IN FULL via Expedia from 9 months before, and with the other booking secured by credit card in the event of a no show, it insisted on charging the credit card for the full stay 2 days BEFORE arrival , rather than waiting for the guest on the booking to show 48 hours later and pay ON ARRIVAL as Expedia booking terms CLEARLY state.The card on the booking was available to be charged if the guest on the second booking did not show. It is unusual ,concerning and unprecedented for full payment to be charged BEFORE the date of arrival. On all other bookings of 2 rooms on this trip none tried to apply a charge to the credit card before arrival. Expedia’s confirmation of this booking is absolutely clear that payment was due for it on arrival at the hotel and not before. For this reason alone I would reluctantly remove this hotel from my repeat list.
