Good location, good with dogs

Although the building is ina state of repair, the room was clean (minus the fridge) and nice bathroom. It was a great convinient place for me to stay at small notice with my dog

Avoid at all costs. This place is filthy. Old, dirty rooms inside a scruffy hostel type building. No one answered the phone to arrange to pick up the Keys and when someone eventually turned up and let us in we were appalled by the state of the place. We turned around left as it was absolutely filthy. we could not stay. I have never experienced anything like it.

Handy location but accommodation falls far short

Posted 15 Mar 2018
Pros: Carlos is a nice guy and wants to do well.
Cons: Everything about this room (6) needs improvement. It is very basic and needs a thorough deep clean, new flooring, kitchenette, bed, bathroom.
Location: Archway tube on your doorstep, and a range of cafes and pubs are nearby.
Check-in was delayed whilst I waited for someone to come over from another building with my key (there is no reception). The approach to the room was a bit scary - up a purple hallway and dank old iron staircase - and the room itself was VERY disappointing. The small bathroom smelled badly, the toilet was horribly brown, the carpet was stained and marked all over, and the overall impression was of a student room in the 1970s. There was no mirror in the bathroom, or anywhere in the flat, no towels were provided and the shower didn't work. I called about the shower and a friendly plumber came over. He couldn't fix it, so Carlos the owner came over. We had a good chat. He's a very nice guy and he was really concerned I was ok. He fixed the shower and fetched me a mirror and offered to refund my money, as he didn't have an alternative room to give me. I went out and bought the strongest toilet cleaner I could, and after several attempts at scrubbing, over probably an hour or more, I was able to restore the loo to a proper white colour (why wasn't this done before letting it out?). Cleanliness in general was very poor and I didn't feel able to use the shower (though as above, there wasn't a towel anyway). The 'kitchenette' wasn't (no hob or toaster or cutlery). Apparently there is a superior studio, which is much better (Carlos said). The view of the London skyline was pretty impressive in the morning sunshine, but I couldn't possibly stay here again.
