Not as good as I thought it was going to be

I don't know how they get their star rating but this is not a 4 star hotel. I would give it 3 at the most. On arrival it looks good from the outside but as our stay progressed the cracks began to show. The pool is open from 12 noon and was not properly clean, as the water was cloudy and the pool surround which was painted concrete did not appear to have been painted for a while, certainly not for this summer season. The lift was out of order and did not go all the way down to the lower level anyway which meant there was a flight of stairs to be negotiated down to the pool area, which could be a problem for someone with mobility problems. We booked half board but I would not recommend this option as the dinner options on half board are limited and not the best I have had anyway. The only waiter on duty was also serving at the bar which was in another room. He was trying his hardest and was a credit. Our room was small okay for one night no in-room safe and the fridge was noisy the TV was ancient and made a humming noise One of our bath towels had a hole in it and just about fell apart when I was using it. They provide towels for use by the pool for a deposit of 7 euros but you only get 5 Euros back when you return them.The pool bar wasn't open and the hotel bar was shut when I went there for a drink just before 5p.m.The tables in the bar were dirty. The breakfast was basic and some of the crockery was not properly cleaned. WiFi was poor and there was virtually no signal

Unusual noise from water pipes during the night. Good base to explore nearby attractions such as the Alhambra.

It's Ok, but not great.

Pros: Location is in a rural area with olive trees. That made it quaint and uncommercialized. The staff was nice and recommended the best restaurant..
Cons: Air conditioning and cleanliness of the bath tub. Had some mold.
Location: Quaint location. We wanted to go to Rio Frio caviar farm.
The staff was very nice and breakfast in the morning was very good. The hotel is OK. The general areas are nice, but the rooms are super simple in decoration and we were told the air conditioning compressor had been turned off because the evenings were starting to cool off. It was hot ( and I know hot, because I live in Miami). I could not sleep comfortably and didn't feel comfortable sleeping with the door size window open.

The Hotel Almanzara in Loja

We found the Hotel difficult to find, location details a little misleading, but when we found it the location was stunning with fabulous views. The accomodation, restaurant and staff was all very good, but we had difficulty in getting drinks from the bar both late afternoon and after dinner, this was because there was a lack of staff, and each time we wanted a drink, we had to go to reception to frind a member od staff to help us. Apart from that, we enjoyed our visit, and would recommend it to our friends.

Cuando llegamos no tenían la reserva hecha, nos dieron una habitación doble con camas d matrimonio cómodas, es lo único bueno que puedo decir... Los vasos sucios, las paredes con manchas, telas d araña en el techo, poca luz en el baño, los jardines muy dejados, la zona del mini-golf muy muy abandonado, adoquines sueltos, zonas de césped con pasto y arena sólo, amacas sucias, la piscina desmoronandose,muy sucio todo y el desayuno incluido muy muy pobre.... Un desastre. Creo que deberían de quitarle varias estrellas deja mucho q desear.

Buenos días siento mucho la impresión que se ha llevado , ya que estamos en proceso de reformas intentando mejorar las instalaciones ya que lo adquirimos hace unos meses. En el desayuno se sirven cerereales, varios tipos de pan, dulces, zumos , leche, embutidos, fruta, mantequilla, mermelada... considerando que es un desayuno continental incluido en el precio estandar de la habitación.

Bra rum men ingen WiFi på rummet,

Vi var på genomresa med vår hund och valde hotellet eftersom det tillåter hund och ligger på landet så att vi kunde rasta den på ganska långa promenader. Hotellet ligger vackert med vid utsikt nästan runtomkring. Rummet vi fick var stort och låg nere vid poolen. Denna var dock ännu inte tillräckligt vattenfylld för bad. Det var ännu lågsäsong för hotellet. Det märktes också vid frukosten som hade ett ganska begränsat utbud, faktiskt mindre än vi väntat oss i ett fyrstjärnigt hotell. En annan besvikelse var att WiFi inte fanns i rummen, endast vid receptionen. I Hotels.com står att det finns WiFi på rummen och detta är således fel.
