Great hotel
Posted 24 Jun 2023 on HotelsWe stayed here during a road trip as a stop before heading up north to Pisa. The hotel is absolutely lovely, it is clean throughout and even with a language barrier the owners were great hosts ! The rooms are clean and kitted out with aircon and shutters. We had a great view of the ocean from our balcony and the room was comfortable too! We had a delicious authentic evening meal in their restaurant and a breakfast for kings and queens ! We would stay here again without question

This is a nice little place that is owned by a husband and wife. They were very helpful. When my refrigerator in the room didn't work I was quickly given a replacement. Really nice people, would definitely come back.

My stay at the property was reasonably pleasant. I especially liked the breakfast pastries, the free-of charge easy parking and the unbeatable location close to local beautiful swimming rocky beaches.
I would like to caution travellers that respond to Expedia's request for check-in rating. I ticked OK (neutral emoticon) and they immediately rang up the hotel saying that I was not happy and complained, which was NOT the case.

Reasonable for short stay.
Posted 29 Jul 2021 on HotelsA reasonable hotel, needs some work doing. On a busy main road, not easy to walk to beach. Restaurant was quite good for evening meal, but a little on the expensive side. Restaurant Staff were pleasant and helpful. We were only there one night, so adequate for our needs.

Basic but clean, facilities limited.
Some distance from any shops or restaurants
Evening meal in restaurant very disappointing
Breakfast however was good
For the price of the room this was not value

Allocation of poor room off-site
Posted 15 Jul 2019 on HotelsWe thought we had booked a room with Hotels.com, but when we arrived at the Hotel La Rosa del Tirreno they informed us they did not have a room in the hotel. They explained that they had sent us an email message offering us alternative accommodation nearby. We had not received that information however, as we had just stayed in a campsite in Sicily with no working internet and then had taken a 20 hour ferry trip from Sicily to Livorno during which we chose not to use the ferry's expensive internet. The alternative room offered by the Hotel was in a complex about 300 metres away that involved walking along and across a very busy road that had no pavements. We felt we had to accept the offered room because it was after 8pm at night when we arrived. We regretted that,principally because the air-conditioning unit was faulty and since it was so hot we got very little sleep. The room also did not have any internet that we could access because the wifi password did not work. So, a bad experience for us. The big question is why could we not have the room that we had originally booked. And secondly, why had the hotel owners not said in their email to us, or when we first arrived, that the room was not one that they owned. In fairness to the owners, the room was obtained for us at a lesser price than the owner of that room normally advertised, but we were not to know that the room would be so faulty (heating and internet-wise), for which the hotel owners took no responsibility

Fantastic hotel
Posted 16 Jun 2019 on HotelsA gorgeous hotel spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is ideal as a base for visiting this part of Italy. Hotel offers evening meals in its own restaurant which are very good and great value for money. Would stay here again
