Superb hosts and our room was beautiful. Had a great visit and can't wait to return! Lititz is a very special place and no better place to stay than The Alden House.

The staff is kind and friendly. Enjoyable to talk to, very informative. The rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent!

I went here this past weekend 10/25 through 10/27and my wife and I had a great time. The breakfast served was delicious and we enjoyed the convenience of the location to the cute shops in the area. We will definitely be back and I’m encouraging my in-laws to take a weekend trip as well however she would need something on the 1st floor.

Do your research! No pictures are a good indicator of "things" not being as you might expect. There was NO common/sitting area. I was looking forward to that/chatting with guests (as I've done in many other bnbs) and not having to stay up in my room. Even a hotel has a lobby area! Disappointing. My room was up a steep stairway. While very large and nice, it was noisy (front room/on busy street) until well after midnight. It also only had two lamps - which made it very dark/dim at nighttime. And, though warm fall nights - the room was really cold even with the little heater on. Bed was okay. They needed a comforter or better blanket as this one smelled like my grandmother's basement (musty/mothballs). Ew. And, the kicker - my bathroom, while private, was up another 14 steep stairs! I have really bad knees. I asked to see if anyone else would like to change rooms with me - and they said they wouldn't do that. Nor would they cancel my second night. The stairs were a LOT for me. Also ... my opinion is, if you have a bnb and aren't an excellent cook - then hire someone who is. Breakfasts both days were ... meh. Side porch was nice. I've stayed at many bnbs ... sadly, would not recommend.

It was unfortunate that we only found out about your needs after check in Friday afternoon. I explained that we were full for both Friday and Saturday, and it was too late for us to make changes in the rooms. Since we only have 7 rooms it is hard to make changes without advance notice. We completely agree and would encourage guests to do their homework. Our house and room layouts are clearly shown on our website and the pictures accurately reflect the current set up. Understand that overall, we have had a great experience with our guests from Expedia and it is reflected in our other reviews. Please be clear about your request to cancel your second night. You asked if we had a two-night minimum and I confirmed that we did. You did not ask to leave or cancel your second night. Had you asked to cancel your second night we would have as certainly don't want guests staying with us who don't want to be here. Over the years a handful of guests have also asked about a common area. You are correct that away from the porches, patio and dining room we don't have any common areas. It's been our experience that most of our guests spend the majority of their time out and about exploring all that Lititz and the surrounding area has to offer. Please note, during this guests stay we had another review with 5 stars.

Loved this Bed and Breakfast and will definitely come back! Beautiful decor, very clean, and the owners were so delightful. Was even better than pictured on Expedia. Location is perfect to stroll through Lititz Main Street. We were in town for a wedding at Brick Gables which was only a couple minutes drive away, so it was very convenient.
So many small touches that were unexpected, I just cannot say enough!

The owners are the best, very accommodating! The suite room was huge. Breakfast was tasty and parking is included! The Alden house is in the middle of the town, very convenient for shopping. We will be back again!
