We stayed here for a night and were excited initially. Well, when we arrived we were so disappointed. It was so dark in the reception and also in the hotel room. A homeless man slept outside our window. The front desk recommended a restaurant around the corner and it was awful. My fish tasted so fishy I sent it back and they did not bother to make right. Next when the bell hop brought us to our room our key did not work but he left us there with a key that did not work so we needed to switch out. Breakfast was good but again room dark and dreary. Sadly I would not recommend this hotel unless you are into dark and dreary.

Our property holds significant historical value dating back to the 18th century, which unfortunately limits our ability to make extensive modifications, including alterations to the size and placement of windows for additional natural light in the lobby and common areas. This preservation allows us to maintain the unique character and charm that many of our guests appreciate. We understand that the lighting can feel diminished, especially during the winter months when daylight is shorter. While this is a challenge, it is part of the historical integrity of our building.On a positive note, we are proud of our breakfast room, which features a lovely rooftop that we close during the winter season. This design allows ample natural light to fill the area, creating a pleasant start to your morning, even when the season may limit light throughout the rest of the Pousada.We sincerely apologize for the discomfort you experienced outside your window, as well as the challenges you faced with your room key and the restaurant recommendation. Your concerns are valid, and we will certainly follow up with our staff to ensure they clarify our recommendations to guests regarding food quality, atmosphere, and distance. Although we are well known for providing excellent concierge recommendations that meet our guests' expectations, this misunderstanding is certainly unusual.Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us as we strive to enhance our guest experience.
