The staff at the hotel desk were great. However, the staff at the Breakfast Buffet were awful. We had an experence where we asked for one cup of decaf coffee and 30 minutes later; and after flagging down to additional staff personnel we were told the machine was broken -- but, then we received a cup of coffee 5 minutes after that. On another day, I arrived to a buffet that was out of scrambled eggs (the only cooked eggs offered other than hard boiled) - I immediately informed the staff and then wait another half hour for more eggs to arrive. However, during that half hour I was told twice that the kitchen staff was making the eggs. However, there is a window into the kitchen and I could see that they did not start cooking the eggs for 20 minutes after I requested them. To further emphasize the staff's lack of concern -- this was the week of WebSummit and while I waited for eggs - over 10 other people looked into the warmer for eggs and commented on the fact that there were none. But, none of the request seemed to matter to the staff - they just talked amongst themselves while the customers sat and waited. By the time the eggs finally arrived half of the guests that asked for them had left the breakfast area.

The room we had was incredibly small. Two of us traveled and even with just our two carry-on bags (one bag each) it was a challenge to move around the room. The bathroom was also incredibly small. We've traveled to more than 20 countries and nearly 100 cities and this, by far, was the smallest hotel room we've ever had which made it quite uncomfortable to relax.

Obrigada Browns
We have stayed at 3 of the Browns Hotels, and all of them have been wonderful stays. Our fav of the 3 was Browns Boutique Hotel, followed by Browns Downtown and then Brown's central. All are great, and all have a different vibe. All are located in a great location too. My suggestion it to upgrade one level from the standard. The Breakfast is great! Good value! The staff at all 3 were very helpful. Safe, clean, great service, and a wonderful value too. Stay at the Browns - we look forward to staying at the Avenues next; it is situated on the park ave of Portugal. Obrigada Browns

It was all about location. We were in the heart of the old town. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. It was clean, safe and convenient. Rooms were nicely decorated. I highly recommend this hotel.

Property and staff were good. There is a weird thing with the air conditioning where you need to place the controls in the correct place if not it turns on and off with a loud band. We figured this out BUT at 3 o'clock in the morning our neighbor did not and it stated banging. When we complained to the the front desk and asked him to contact the other room to correct the situation, he said "no, because they are probably sleeping ". at least they were able to sleep. We told the front desk the next morning but they did not seem very concerned. Also, the water in the shower changes from hot to cold often with no place to move out of the way when it happens. Other then one sleepless night it is a good hotel.

The location was amazing, the staff were so personable and helpful with whatever we needed. They even made us a great dinner reservation. The hotel is in the perfect spot to enjoy old town Lisbon. Everything is within easy walking distance (buses, metro, train station). Great restaurants are all around. We would come back again for sure.

Great little hotel based smack bang in the middle of all the action. A satellite hotel to the main Browns hotel based 200yards up the road, so doesn’t have all the amenities such as bar and restaurant but you can get all of that at the main hotel, so not really a biggie. The room we had was the suite on the 6th floor, which was an amazing room. The shower room was maybe a bit on the shabby side , with a curtain missing from the window and the shower was difficult to get the temp right, again nothing major.. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. The location is perfect for all the activities and restaurants in the area. So all in all this hotel was amazing value for money and we really enjoyed staying there and would recommend it to family and friends

Hip pad in the middle of everything
We loved our room. Super cute and well done. Had a basic which was small but we’re rarely in our room. Had space for 2 checked bags as well as 2 carry-ons as well. Good layout and we had window which opened to the street. Wasn’t noisy at all as it’s a quiet street in the middle of all the action. Our lobby was hip mid century and 😎. Great shower, towels, linens. Comfy bed. Right in the center of the downtown area. So close to the waterfront, the 28 tram as well as the buses to Belem and the National Museum. Literally 1/2 block from Biaxa/Chiado metro station as well. Though take a taxi from the airport if you can because it’s much quicker and it was like 15 euros. Plus the cobblestones will literally break the wheels off your luggage. We actually saw it happen one day. Front desk super friendly and helpful. Had a delicious complimentary welcome drink up the block. Also liked that hotel. We got Covid tests done in Plaça da Figueroa which is right next to Rossio Square and we got printed copies in 30 minutes. The one in Rossio took longer and they come as email. Would absolutely return and recommend highly.
