Great place to relax in quiet location
Posted 15 Jul 2014We spent 2 nights here. Location in countryside, on edge of a small village, means it is very quiet and there are opportunities for walking. Good open air restaurant with lovely views. Easy to get to Bamberg by car. Owners are friendly and accommodating - moved us to a better room as ours wasn't ready on arrival.

Biggest problem was lack of English speaking waiters. Though they really tried. Also our GPS did not recognize street. We felt our way there.

More then perfect
Posted 28 May 2012 on HotelsThis was one of the best vacation I had in the past years. So perfect, I canceled Dubai and decided to extend my vacation in Germany. If you look for a place to relax, this is the perfect place. And on top, the food is outstanding and personnel very friendly.
Five stars in every category. I sure will be back in December for a Family vacation.

Great Little Guest House
Posted 29 Aug 2010This place looked like it had been a hunting cabin, or something similar. You might get lucky, when I was there, there was a wedding reception going on! It is a great place to take a family for a couple of days, with a swimming pond, and fishing area, a good place to relax. The TV was very tiny, and there were only a few channels, on the otherhand, you go to this place for the experience, not to watch TV. The food was fabulous, and they serve locally caught fish for a reasonable price. The menu was extensive. They had something for everyone. It's a 30 min. drive from Bamberg, the little village seems to attract a lot of musical talent. The host and all the employees were very accomodating, I had to leave at 5:00 a.m., and they packed me a breakfast the night before. Breakfast everyday was substantial, as well. If you want to get away from the typical tourist-trap, this is the place to get a genuine 'German' tourist experience. Some of the staff speak English. Since this place is remote, I don't know if there is any public transportation. I had a rental car.
