The oldest pagoda in Vung Tau features mesmerizing golden statues and a beautiful lotus flower roof.

Admire the carved roof of Linh Son Co Tu with its golden Buddha statues. Relax in the tranquil lotus garden hidden at the back of the pagoda and explore the interior to see impressive religious paintings and statues.

Built in 1919, Linh Son So Tu is the longest-standing pagoda in the city. Although it is relatively small in size, the lavish decoration and beautiful gardens make it one of the city’s most visited temples.

As you approach Linh Son Co Tu, you will face two elegant, carved dragons above the entrance. Appreciate their harsh beauty and look beyond them to the pagoda’s main façade where you’ll see a carved lotus flower motif. Examine this more closely to notice the 100 gold-painted figures of Buddha surrounding the carving.

Make your way inside the pagoda where the sweet smell of incense in the air and the dimmed lighting create a calming atmosphere. Look around to view colorful paintings and statues of deities. Don’t miss the Buddha with a brightly painted halo and the peculiar horned warrior with a long red tongue. See more figures on the main altar where various gods and a gold-plated Buddha are surrounded by candles. You may notice local visitors lighting candles or making offerings of incense to the various gods.

Head outside into the small garden at the back of Linh Son Co Tu. This serene grassy area is decorated with pretty lotus plants. Stroll the paths or simply sit on the grass and enjoy a moment of calm away from the busy city streets.

Find Linh Son Co Tu on the historic Hoang Hoa Tham Street in the center of Vung Tau. The pagoda is open all day and there is no admission fee. Although there are no rules enforced, it is best to show respect by wearing clothing that covers your knees and shoulders.
