Sadly, this property has declined over the years, in spite of being in a constant state of renovation. While our time- share room had the expected amenities, well, let's just say it didn't sparkle. The hallways, stairwells, and other common areas were in severe need of repair (floor tiles were actually crumbling, carpets were dirty, our hallway had an offensive odor), and the elevator was such a mess we didn't dare use it. To top it off, the two major outdoor pool restaurants were closed for repair.
Happily, the beach area was beautiful, the pool area very attractive, and close-by restaurants helped fill in the dining gaps. But the cost of our accommodations was in no way justified by the condition of the property.
Unfortunately, this was not the 4-star 25th anniversary trip we had envisioned.

The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately the low review has more to do with Expedia’s false advertising and some aspects of the hotel. Expedia lists the room as a queen bed bedroom and turned out to be a pull out/sofa bed. I noticed it 2 days before our trip (they tell you it’s a wall bed on the confirmation after you purchase) of course I immediately tried getting a room change. I thought I bought the travel insurance, should be ok. Expedia wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to get an actual bed even with the travel protection plan. We paid $1800 for 4 nights. Expedia wanted to charge another $2400 ($1700 penalty fee plus the room type difference). There was a lot of back and forth, between Expedia and the hotel. The hotel manager first told me we could do the change and just pay the difference but that I had to have Expedia do the change. I called Expedia again, they said no, and asked me to call the hotel. I called back the manager changed her mind and said she didn’t deal with changes from third parties and that she only dealt with people who had timeshares. We tried changing the room once at the hotel, they still didn’t allow it, which is too bad because at the end of the day we were still hotel guests. Of course the day after we checked in they wanted to schedule a meeting with us to try and sell us a timeshare. We also had incredibly loud neighbors, playing music at 4:45am. I’ve used Expedia for over 10 years, this is the last time.
