Enjoy Florida’s wildlife and natural beauty in this pristine park. Climb to the top of the lighthouse for breathtaking views of the picturesque area.

Lighthouse Point Park is a scenic spot on the north side of Ponce de Leon Inlet. It is an unspoiled sanctuary for local wildlife and the ideal place for a waterfront getaway with the whole family.

Hike along miles of nature trails and watch for local wildlife such as skunks, armadillos, raccoons and various birds. Enjoy beautiful coastal views from the observation deck or stroll along the beach before taking a swim in the ocean. Fishing is permitted from the shoreline. The park is equipped with barbecue pits and picnic tables, so pack a picnic and have a meal on the beach.

Venture just outside the park to the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse, the peninsula’s main attraction. At 175 feet (53.3 meters) in height, it is the tallest lighthouse in Florida and one of the tallest masonry lighthouses in the United States. Its bright-red exterior stands in stark contrast to its natural surroundings. Climb the 203 steps to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Ponce de Leon Inlet. See if you can spot dolphins from the vantage point at the top. Take a guided tour of the lighthouse or enjoy a walk around the area on your own.

Beyond the lighthouse, explore various outbuildings or visit the quaint gift store, where you can buy souvenirs. Investigate the lighthouse keeper’s quarters, which have been converted into a museum. Walk through and view exhibits that trace the history of the lighthouse and the surrounding area you’ll get a fascinating insight into the lives of lighthouse keepers and their families. Inspect the museum’s collection of restored Fresnel lenses that were once used in lighthouses.

Lighthouse Point Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and entry is free. The Ponce de Leon Lighthouse and Museum is open daily and charges a small admission fee with reduced rates for children. Lighthouse Point Park is a 30-minute drive south of downtown Daytona Beach. You can park on the grounds for a small fee.
