Chosen because of location
We choose this hotel because we were attending a concert in the area and wanted to be walking distance. Our room was roomy and clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast was good, huge selection. Only negative was street noise, our room was street level on the front of the building. I'm sure rooms on the courtyard are quieter. The neighborhood is interesting, you can tell it is in transition and will probably be quite vibrant in the next few years.

Comfortable but dated
The hotel is quite comfortable, the breakfast very reasonable with alot of choice and the staff are friendly but the interior is dated. The neighbourhood is definitely for the more seasoned traveler (a 10min tram ride from the city center) and does not offer a wealth of conveniences. But it is a great place to stay if you want an off the beaten track, local experience, which was exactly what we were looking for.

A great value hotel.
I stayed here for three nights in November 2013. The room was small and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was great value and there was plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and the place was easy to find. I really recommend this place to anyone on a budget.

A bit out of the way
In a industrial neighborhood that artists will appreciate. Visit the Spinnerei and the Printmaking Museum while you're there.

Not the most picturesque area but good value
The hotel is not in the most eye catching location, in fact the area was a little run down. Having said that there is a local train station 10 mins walk away with a regular service to Leipzig centre 15 mins trip in. The staff at the hotel were great and very helpful, they allowed us to leave the car in their parking area even after we had checked out a day earlier. The room was basic but clean and functional. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise in quality and content. In truth the stay was enjoyable.

Budget hotel in Leipzig suburb
I have just spent four nights at the Hotel Plagwitzer Hof, in a very small single downstairs room - the bed was comfortable, the heating was efficient. The tiny shower room had plenty of hot water, but the shower was grotty; the towel rail was falling off the wall, and the towels were thin (I know it's a budget hotel, but it wouldn't cost much to replace them !) The breakfast was included in the price, and was plentiful. The decor is very outdated. The staff were helpful - eventually. There is courtyard parking if you arrive by car. The hotel is a long way from the centre of Leipzig, but there are handy trams - or it is interesting to walk it, which takes about an hour. The Plagwitz area is very run-down, with derelict factories and overgrown empty sites. Because I did not know the area, I took a taxi from Leipzig-Halle airport, and was charged 36 euros; a better way is train to Leipzig main station, then tram to Plagwitz. I would not stay there again.

Business Review
It offered a clean room, internet service in the rooms, and breakfast...all the basics one needs for a business trip. They do not provide shampoo and lotion....but that wasn't issue. I had my own :)

Quiet and nice
Don't let the side of town fool you. This is a really nice, not that far out of the way hotel with wonderful service and breakfast. Brush up on your German a little though, as none of the staff speak English.

Vibe Missing
The hotel is about 20min away from the city centre on the tram. The surrounds of the hotel are a little run down - lots of graffiti and empty blocks of flats, but we never felt unsafe even walking back at night. It just lacked a bit of atmosphere. Our room was upgraded when we asked about internet which was a very nice plus. Breakfast was good. Service OK. Overall good value for money but if you want a bit more vibe and atmosphere then stay closer to the centre of the city and pay a bit more cash.

Fantastic for the price!
My family and I stayed here for just 2 nights. The breakfast was superb and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was overwhelming. Travelling to the hotel from the airport takes you through some of the more run down areas of Leipzig and the hotel itself is in quite a run down area too. However, I felt safe, comfortable and happy there. I was not staying there to get to the city centre for the main reason, but it was a simple 5 minute walk to the tram stop and a 15 minute tram ride into the centre with very reasonably priced tickets. The bar was very reasonably priced too :) Overall I enjoyed my stay there and I would gladly stay there again. Thank you!

Pretty good place
The hotel is well served by public transportation (bus and tram), although at night options dwindle. You can walk to an Aldi grocery store and a few restaurants. It's also a short walk to the Lindenauer Markt area. The breakfast in the morning is one of the best. Overall, it's a great place if you don't mind being a little bit away from the city center.

Good hotel
The standard of the Hotel Room was fine and the breakfast was OK. The only problem with this hotel is its location, its out in an area of the city known as Plagwitz at the end of tram line 14 and then a good 5 minute walk to the hotel. The problem is the frequency of the service especially in the evenings when it only runs 2 times an hour, so if you miss one, you have to wait half an hour for tyhe next one, not fun in winter.

Would go back as second choice
It lacked a arm chair to relax, also it lacked tea or coffee making facility provided in the room if you were thirsty you had to to the bar and buy tea or coffee. TV stations were all in German, except for CNN news. good & plenty choice of the continental breakfast.

Plagwitzer Hotel, Leipzig (Germany)
The hotel seems to be one of the cheapest in town, but is still 3 or 4 times more expensive than hostels in Lepizig center. Nevertheless, if you like single room with bathroom and VERY good breakfast, you can go there (do not look at dirty carpets on the floor). The neighborhood is not the bright side of that place, but connection with the Leipzig center is fine. Take tram No 14 or Bus 60 to go to the city.

A hidden gem!
The hotel is in a rather run-down post-industrial area, and you wonder what you're going to find, but it stands in its own quiet courtyard and is a joy to stay in. Although some distance from the city centre is is quite easily reached by the No 14 tram, which crosses Giesserstrasse a short walk away, or by rail to the nearby Plagwitzer station. The room contained everything necessary for comfort; my only slightly negative comment would be that the pillow was soft and nearly disappeared under the weight of one's head! The buffet breakfast was very nice. Altogether I would be happy to go back, and to recommend this hotel to others.

Would recommend to others
This hotel was comfortable, clean and the breakfast was good. The hotel staff was also friendly. It wasn't super modern or anything, but for the price it was a very pleasant stay. The only warning I'd give is about the location. It's in an industrial neighborhood that seems to be converting to office space. It wasn't the kind of place I felt comfortable walking alone at night because the streets (and buildings) were pretty empty and dark. However, there's a bus that stops right in front of the hotel and the next neighborhood over (towards the city center) is quite lovely and is adjacent to a nice big park.

out of the way, but good
This hotel is on Tram 14, about 15 minutes from Hauptbahnhof. It's not a bad trip, but if you arrive late and aren't familiar with Leipzig (and it's snowing), it can be a little tricky to find. Check-in closes at 10PM, which we didn't know. The clerk stayed until 10:20 waiting for us, which was nice. Of course it would have been good to know that Check-in closes...

Hotel Platzwiger Hof - a great alternative to save
The hotel is a short tram ride from the Hauptbanhoff. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was fine. The hotel is in a dark neighborhood with no surrounding businesses. But, if you like economical, quiet clean and friendly this is a wonderful place to stay.

Hotel Plagwitzer Hof - A Pleasant find in Leipzig
The hotel was only about a five minute walk from the Plagwitzer train station. At the price I was pleasantly surprised. The outside is neatly painted, and trimmed. The inside was clean and inviting. The staff was gracious and helpful. To top it off, they provided a delicious full breakfast.
