The standard rooms need a lot of work. I stayed in room 7, the entrance light doesn’t stay on long enough to unlock the door to the room, the kettle was full of limescale with no filter in the nozzle, the mattress was lumpy, the shower head was ancient and covered in orange build up from being old/not cleaned thoroughly. I can see the owners have tried, there were biscuits in the room etc but the above all needs addressing. the Furniture was very cheap. I had stayed in a hotel in Bath the night before for just £9 more that was incredible and included a roll top bath, the difference is huge.
Service in the restaurant was pretty poor, college girls stood chatting about dating and nights out, clearly no manager on site, and had to ask to be served. I ordered the Nasi Goreng. It came in a small frying pan which was near impossible to eat out of without spilling the dish everywhere. It’s an Indonesian dish, a bowl would have been better. The food was nice but very greasy.
I woke up at 6am because the walls were so thin so I got up and got on my way, I left at 7:30 but the pub was closed and no instructions were given on what to do with the key if this was the case so I just had to leave it in the room door. It would have been good to explain my dissatisfaction to someone at check out so hopefully this place can improve but there was no one around.
