Dear madam, sir,Obviously, there is a misunderstanding, the hotel was absolutely not closed because you had booked a room there but you were the only guests in the hotel that evening. As we do not provide service in the restaurant in the evening, we offered you to stay in our partner hotel of the same category for the comfort of having the restaurant and breakfast in the same place and above all, you avoid climbing many stairs. You have chosen to sleep on a site dating from the Middle Ages. You have noticed that it is a small village on a rock which is made up of small historic houses and in particular the house in which you slept which dates from the 14th century. Constructions made by hand of man without the modern machines that we have today. Houses of real size for the Middle Ages and that we have adapted and decorated to welcome visitors from all over the world. It is a unique site in the world classified by UNESCO with many rules which allow to remain in the spirit of a medieval village with in particular the prohibition of elevators or air conditioning. It is written that all our rooms are on the third and fourth floors and only accessible by stairs. You also received an email informing you to only take small luggage to come to the site, access is only by shuttle or on foot and especially the many steps. We are sincerely sorry that you were not able to appreciate the medieval universe in which you stayed.Sincerely

Nice boutique hotel. Rooms are small but that is to be expected for the age of the building and its history

Just such an experience to stay on Mon Michele, and in a very quaint room. My 9yr ole granddaughter enjoyed it very much.

Terrible service. Listing is deceptive
Posted 7 Jul 2024 on HotelsThis hotel can get away with murder because of its location. No bellmen so you have to get your luggage up five stories of stairs- very treacherous stairs. Mediocre expensive breakfast in adjacent hotel so don’t believe the photos in the listing. Mont Saint Michel is overrated. There are much better chateaus elsewhere and much better food. Avoid the place.
