Fine, no frills
Posted 21 Feb 2019 on HotelsThe bedroom was comfortable and clean, but the bathroom could have used some TLC. If you want to visit the 3-D museum or go on the cable car, the location is great, but if you are there after dark it is a complete ghost town - no restaurants or anything, and it was really hard to get a Grab car to the location. We selected the location due to its proximity to the ferry terminal, so it was a fine place to stay as a crash pad. If you are looking for amenities, you may be better off somewhere else.

Perfect for skycab

Basic hotel, good value for the price and convenient location for the cable car. Clean bed and good air con. WiFi was a little slow. We got there early in the morning and they kindly let us leave our bags behind the desk until check in so we could explore without them. Like other reviews have said there’s not much open locally after about 7pm but we just made sure we ate before this so it was ok.

The hotel is right next to many attractions including the cable car, sky bridge and 3D art museum. It is only a 10 minute walk to a lovely almost completely secluded beach. It is also pretty close to the trail to the 7 wells waterfall.
It is placed in the Oriental village which is like a tiny theme park so it does get a bit noisy from 9am onwards with music, tannoys, people, etc. Occassionally there was also maintenance noises at night.
The room is comfortable with air con, nice bed, fridge, desk and en suite. The bathroom did look a little worn down and often there was the sound of constant running water. This personally didn't bother me too much though because I could just close the door and block out the noise. There was only one power point though and this did irritate me.
The maids were excellent and always left the room immaculate. The reception staff were very friendly and were happy to help with any issue no matter how bizarre. They spent a long time trying to help me find a watch I thought I might have dropped in a taxi earlier.
Overall a very good stay. Not a luxury hotel but very good for the price.
